So there's only 1 name that I'm absolutely in love with for our baby girl. The only thing stopping me from using is the fact a friend from school (not a close friend but someone who I've had on Facebook for years and years) has used this name for their baby girl who is now 6months old.

Since I've been pregnant we've spoke a few times on Facebook and she always comments on my scan photos and statuses to do with the baby. From time to time we'll message and she'll ask how the pregnancy is going and things like that. I am just so in love with the name and can't find anything I like more, I've always liked it, way before she used it for her baby girl...I just feel like she's bet me to it and I have no other option but to chose another name. We're not close but have lots of mutual friends and I think people will just assume I've copied her Hmm what would you do in this situation, would you just try and find another name?

Ah that’s not a very uncommon name anymore, use it if you love it! It’s not like you and this other woman are super close.

I didn't know it was becoming more and more popular, I understand why it is though I think it's beautiful. I don't know any others, just her daughter. The fact it's getting more popular doesn't bother me, it makes me feel a little bit more comfortable about using it if anything. I agree with sending her a message first just to let her know, although I don't know how I'm going to pluck up the courage to do itBlush

I think I really would regret it if I didn't use it, we also live in different towns so definitely wouldn't be at the same school or anything. I know if someone who I knew decided to use the same name as my DS, I wouldn't be bothered and would take it more as a compliment.. maybe not if we were close but we are only Facebook friends, we hardly even spoke while at school together. I'm glad that most of you would go for it in my situation Smile

Gorgeous name, use it! In 20 years you probably won't even remember who this person is and would regret not using it.

Aria is fine! It's not too outlandish at all, I know 3! 2 with an i and 1 with a y.

Go for it, it's not like you're going mad with something that would raise eyebrows. It's an established name now.

GoT obviously

She is a Husky, chancing a nap in dcat's bed!

Why not ask her? I found out someone avoided the name Clara after I had one, only we would never have minded at all.

GirlRaisedInTheSouth · 21/08/2019 22:25

I don’t like it. There’s something of ‘the master race’ about it.

Do you like any other names, OP?

epari · 21/08/2019 22:33

Use it! If she throws a fit or does indirect status's "unfriend" you live in different city and aren't really friends so she's actually irrelevant x

strawberriesandrosepetals · 21/08/2019 22:39

Is she one of these people who has 500 odd 'friends' on Facebook? If so, and if you don't really even know her, just de-friend or whatever and she probably won't even notice you've gone. Problem solved!

Sorry, feeling in a very pragmatic frame of mind this evening Grin
