Hi, I'm looking for a different flower name for a little girl. I already have a primrose so looking for something that goes well with her name. Thank you in advance!

Sorrel
Clover
Rowan

(Not flowers I realise 😃)

Scruffalicious · 14/08/2019 23:28

Peony is very nice.

Ellmau · 15/08/2019 00:37

Viola if you think Violet's a bit too well used?

I think I'd skip the Rose names when you already have a Primrose. Even the ones pronounced differently I think would look a bit odd together.

I'm not sure about Peony. Too easy to mangle or misspell imo.

Tartyflette · 15/08/2019 01:02

Or on a slightly different tack you could go with a 'colour' angle , with names like Scarlet, Jade, Marina or Violet.
They could all go with Primrose.
Actually, not Violet - while it's perfectly fine as a name, a Primrose and a Violet together sounds a bit twee much.

Ragwort ......

HoratioNightboy · 15/08/2019 01:13

I know a lady called Sasanqua - a type of Camellia apparently.

My choice would be Tansy.

Poppins2016 · 15/08/2019 01:15

Honeysuckle.

BoreOfWhabylon · 15/08/2019 01:19

Mignonne

Veterinari · 15/08/2019 01:28

Tulip is pretty ugly.

Heather is a lovely classic.

Peony is nice but the Pee sound would worry me interns of teasing

honey7 · 15/08/2019 01:55

Dahlia
Lilly

PointlessUsername · 15/08/2019 02:12

Bracken - Technically a plant but i think it sounds nice with Primrose.

Butterflycookie · 15/08/2019 02:27

Amaryllis

FatTwat69 · 15/08/2019 06:09

Some of the combinations sound like dairy cows and others a little too ‘Keeping Up Appearances’ characters or Ben and Holly fairies.

Lucinda goes well, but it’s not floral.

QOD · 15/08/2019 06:23

I know it’s not quite a flower name but I like Posy

Violet is very popular now
I know a 5 yr old Primrose

challengeyourreality · 15/08/2019 06:41

Peony is very nice

mathanxiety · 15/08/2019 06:48

A friend of DD2's named Peony rejoiced in the NN Peon in high school.

Suggestions:
Aven
Calla
Rue
Cicely
Keziah/ Cassia
Jessamine
Susannah (means 'lily')
Chrysantha
Jacinta (means Hyacinth)

BikeRunSki · 15/08/2019 09:15

Lilac
Margurite
Erica (Latin for Heather)
Rosita (little rose)
Carnation (I love the painting “Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose)

WutheringFrights · 15/08/2019 09:21

If I had another DD she would be Gypsophila (pronounced gyp-so-fee-lee-ah rather than gyp-soff-i-lah) after my great aunt 😊

Hopefullysmart · 15/08/2019 09:22

I know siblings Poppy and Lilly. Id have thought Lilly/Lily was a very obvious one but it hasn't been mentioned much on this thread.

BikeRunSki · 15/08/2019 09:24

I don’t think Lily/Lilly has been mentioned much, because as you say, it is the obvious flower name, and the OP asked for different flower names.

Skyejuly · 15/08/2019 09:28

Sweet pea
Bluebell

SomeEnchantedEvening18 · 15/08/2019 09:31

Lilac

lvra · 15/08/2019 10:51
