We already have a girls name picked, but we need help with a boys name. Our DS is called James Joseph Benjamin. What’s your favourite from our list?

William
Samuel
Edward
Frederick
Michael
Thomas
Alexander
Nicholas
Patrick

Frederick, shortened to Freddy.

ChampagneBuffet · 04/08/2019 09:51

Frederick it is then!!. What middle names shall we use, I’m thinking Frederick William George but worried it sounds too regal

Frederick William George sounds fine.

ChampagneBuffet · 04/08/2019 09:52

DH has just dropped a game changer. Wdyt of Stanley? Do you prefer it to Frederick?

William and George are both royal names and giving lots of names is done in royal families.
So yes, it does sound regal.

AdaColeman · 04/08/2019 10:00

Frederick Edward is a good combination.

Or Norman Stanley?

ChampagneBuffet · 04/08/2019 10:04

Not a fan of Norman @AdaColeman I’m tied between Frederick and Stanley now, we hadn’t considered Stanley before

Thomas or William. Billy is fine as a nickname. I like Tom as shortened version of tom. Stanley is nice but I think I'd wait to see if it suited baby as I don't know that it would suit all wee babies

ChampagneBuffet · 04/08/2019 10:11

That’s true @watsmyname but if he’s anything like DS he’ll come out looking about 50😂

Edward by a mile. William is boring, use it as a middle name. (Love Samuel and Nicholas)

user1493494961 · 04/08/2019 11:19

Norman Stanley Fletcher in Porridge (I'm old!)

ChampagneBuffet · 04/08/2019 11:22

We’ve decided to go with StanleyBlush sorry that it wasn’t on the original list I’ve just fell in love with it. I love Stan too!

Thistly · 04/08/2019 12:31

Stan is a great nickname. What are you thinking for middle name now?

ChampagneBuffet · 04/08/2019 14:15

We’re thinking Stanley Frederick George

Angrybottlethrower · 04/08/2019 17:28

Stanley makes me think of a fat sweaty middle aged man who has never had a girlfriend and whose only interest is trainspotting.

ChampagneBuffet · 04/08/2019 19:13

Any options on Ralph @Angrybottlethrower

RecoveringChocaholic · 04/08/2019 21:02

We've got a frederick James Alexander so we clearly got similar tastes in names. 😊One thing I would say is that there are loads of Freddies around and I mean loads. Ours is a Fred for that reason.
I love Stanley /Stan too.

Angrybottlethrower · 04/08/2019 23:16

@ChampagneBuffet I really like Ralph. Never heard of it meaning penis Hmm

ZiggyB · 04/08/2019 23:20

Yay Stanley

missdumbledore · 05/08/2019 00:03

I'm gonna say frederick - the name's not that common these days and it's a good'un imo!
