I’m surprised this is still so popular (#15 in 2017) as most Jessicas I know are in their 20s or older. Does anyone know any babies or children with this name?

My 8 year old is Jessica I couldn't decide between 2 names when I gave birth so I let my midwife choose between the 2.

This often astounds me as well...but yes you’re right, it is incredibly popular....as a teacher of young children I have taught 4 little Jessica’s but also have 3 good friends who are called Jessica and they are all 20s-30s.
It’s a name which has lasted the test of time.
The Jessica’s I have go by Jess, Jessy, Jay

Boring name, don’t use it

Julia/ Juliet much better

Mines a Jessica, often Jess or Jessie. I do like it but kind of wish I picke something ese as there are loads of Jessica's.

Deanetta · 03/08/2019 23:08

My baby due in December (if all goes well of course) will be named Jessica. It’s the only girls name that my husband and I liked!

3boysandabump · 03/08/2019 23:15

I know one Jessica and she's 4

3boysandabump · 03/08/2019 23:15

Oh no I know another Jessica who's 8

Angrybottlethrower · 04/08/2019 17:51

To me it’s quite dated as all the Jessicas I know were born in the early 90s

roseenglishrose · 04/08/2019 18:00

I know of 5 who will be in my daughter's class - all born 2016 & 2017! V. popular here!

devilishlygood · 04/08/2019 19:06

@WitchesGlove...but apparently not!! 😂

DrMadelineMaxwell · 04/08/2019 19:10

My Jessica complains at me that we gave her a far too popular name.

Shes 15.

And she may have a point. Her best friend is called Jessica. There were 4 in their class of 25 pupils in primary and 6 in their year.

NeverTrustASmilingCat · 04/08/2019 19:33

I know two, one is 7 the other 2. It was also my favourite name when I was younger, but we didn't use it - for one thing the 7 yo is my XBF's daughter.

justaweeone · 04/08/2019 19:37

I have an Ailsa, with Jessica as her middle name
Named after my mother in laws DM who was called Jessie
Turns out that was her actual name not Jessica! Grin

VoyageInTheDark · 04/08/2019 19:54

I know a 2 year old Jessica. I wouldn't have thought it would still be popular but it is a nice name

tappitytaptap · 04/08/2019 19:57

I know a 3 year old one, but agreed it sounds very 80s to me.

codenameduchess · 04/08/2019 19:58

I have a Jessica, didn't realise it was so popular when we named her but we've only met maybe 2 since then... for a consistently top 10/20 name there really aren't many around!

It's a nice, classic name. I really like the origin too, it's an old Hebrew name but the form 'Jessica' was most likely first used by Shakespeare in the merchant of Venice.

HavelockVetinari · 04/08/2019 19:59

I have a Jessica who works for me - she is ACE and will do great things, it's a great name!

DramaAlpaca · 04/08/2019 19:59

I don't know any. I've always liked the name.

GrapefruitIsGross · 04/08/2019 20:02

The baby girl in the bay beside us when I was in having dd in 2017 was called Jessica. I was abit WTF because it sounded very early 90’s, so I’m shocked it’s still so popular!

It’s in the same box as Chloe, Shannon and Kayleigh for me- very of their time.
