Oscar or Toby

Ds due any day. We cannot agree on a name!

DH really likes Oscar or Toby but I’m just not 100%. I like Ben or Patrick but he’s definitely against both.

Any thoughts (good or bad) on Oscar or Toby? Middle name would be Oscar Patrick and Toby Harris.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Ben - too common
Patrick - Middle Aged plumber

Toby is fine.

Thanks all. The search goes on!

Toby but prefer Tobias. I really like Patrick.

Oscar Patrick. Toby is a very ‘wet’ name.

Absolutely agree Toby is a very wet name and reminds me of a drippy posh boy. Its awful.
Oscar is much better!

I always thought Toby was a wet name too 🤭 Now I have one I realise the personality dictates the name. He is the most feisty little thing I’ve ever met.

Thanks everyone - i never really know what someone means when they call a name wet on here but all noted anyway - much appreciated feed back - thank you!

I toyed with Toben when pg. Might be a compromise for you!!

Ended up with an Oscar. He's 9 and I know that it's theoretically popular, but there are only 3 on the whole of his 3-13 school, and the primary school of 420 kids I teach in has 5- so they are not crawling out from under every rock (in the West country anyway).

@reefedsail - thanks for the figures / that’s really good to know.

My friend’s brother is Tobias shortened to Toby, born in 2000 when it really wasn’t popular.

I prefer Oscar.
