I have a little girl called Clara & I seem to be drawn to ‘simple’ names (not deliberately so there might be a long name I’d love). It’s been quite hard to find another name we agree on. Not particularly bothered by popularity as even the top names are less than a percent of babies - just struggling to find one we both like.

Rose is a contender - what do people think?
Other possibilities are Alice & Sophia.
I also love Charlotte but I think it’s too close to Clara.

For boys: Robin, Peter, Luke & Rowan?

I hadn’t noticed I had such a thing for the letter R until writing this!

Like a PP I prefer Rosa and love Peter.

Rose is perfection. I wanted to use it but couldn’t. Defo not a Rose West problem, she was Rosemary. Rose is a rose by any other name, English Rose, Titantic...

Peter is my fave from your boy’s list, I had this on my list too!

I agree with the pp who said don’t use Rowan or Robin if you might use Rose for a DC3.

Rose is quite lovely, and great next to her sister's name. Peter is my favourite of your boy's names.

I think Rose is a great choice with Clara but I like all your other girl names. I also really like Peter. Clara and Peter made me think of Heidi but that just shows how old I am !

She might well be rosemary but we only know her as rose. Every time I hear the name rose I think of her.

@lostinthewheatfield I really like Heidi but my husband thinks it would sound stupid with Clara Grin

I really like your name choices. I think Anna and Nina are other names with a similar feel.

@HerculesMulligan I love Anna but it’s in use by a close relative. Not a fan of Nina.

I love Rose, it’s so lovely. Also really like Sophia.
For a boy I think Rowan is great.

NoSauce · 27/07/2019 08:28

Rose is beautiful and goes perfectly with Clara. Eleanor, Harriet, Lucy would also be nice.

Not keen on the boys names, Luke is very wishy washy and dated to me.

What about James, George, Patrick, Gabriel, Alistair?

daisypond · 27/07/2019 08:41

Rose is super and is my favourite out of your choices. I like Peter for a boy’s name.
