How many male Arlos do you know, and what part of the country are you in? I have previously thought this was a bit of a try hard name, but it's growing on me!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ArtichokeAardvark · 25/07/2019 12:48

I know 4, all under the age of 3. South West London.

aleC4 · 25/07/2019 12:57

I'm an infant teacher in the East Midlands and we've never had one in our school - I've been there 20 years!

Gorillaandme · 25/07/2019 12:58

2 and I live in North West think it's in top 10 names this year.

Nowisthemonthofmaying · 25/07/2019 13:02

I know two baby Arlos, in SE

Aragog · 25/07/2019 13:05

1 just leaving reception in the infant school I work at. South Yorkshire

bellinisurge · 25/07/2019 13:06

I know one.

sneakypinky · 25/07/2019 13:06

I know 3 - newborn in Cambridgeshire, a toddler in Essex, and a 6yo in Norfolk.

seven201 · 25/07/2019 13:07

1 two year old, south east. I do think it's getting more popular

TinyMystery · 25/07/2019 13:10

I’ve met at least 6 but do work in maternity so meet a lot of babies!

TinyMystery · 25/07/2019 13:10

South East btw.

roundligament · 25/07/2019 13:10

I know one. It's an Albanian name apparently, his dad is Albanian. I love the name. He is 2.5

DrDentyst · 25/07/2019 13:15

I don't know any but it was the 42nd most popular boys name in 2017 for England & Wales and has risen massively (in 2014 it was ranked 141) so I would expect it to be more popular in the 2018 stats (due out aug/Sept).

HeadfirstForHalos · 25/07/2019 13:16

I know one aged 15 , West mids. I dont think it will date, it's hardly a new name. He's named After Arlo Guthrie.

diddlediddle · 25/07/2019 14:36

There are lots all clustered in certain areas I think. I know 5 under 5 in SE London. I think it's a name that will link a child to a certain time, as it's quite zeitgeisty, but depends how bothered you are about that

Owlbert · 27/07/2019 19:38

North East-None but keep reading it online. It's a lovely name

littlebitstressed · 27/07/2019 21:16

Moved to the East of England in February, know of 5 within 30 minutes of my house. My daughter has just finished reception and had 2 in her class. Used to live in South Whales and knew none.

PhoebeFriends · 27/07/2019 21:19

One, a one year old in Leeds.

chuttypicks · 27/07/2019 21:23

Not sure of it's popularity but I do know that it's a name for a dog, not a person.

Wingingitsince2018 · 27/07/2019 21:30

2 babies, 1 dog, all born in 2018 in the South East

zafferana · 27/07/2019 21:36

There aren't any at my boys' all-boys school and I've never met one or heard of a DC with that name. I think there are a couple of celebs with Arlos, but that's it!

Fatkins · 27/07/2019 21:37

I know one who lives in Belfast, but I am in the home counties.

Stampyourfeet · 27/07/2019 21:40

East London, every second child is called Arlo

Greyhound22 · 27/07/2019 21:46

I don't know any in the Black Country.

Chocolatedaim · 27/07/2019 23:14

Yes
I’m in NE London. I know of two under three and I hear the name all the time at parks and children centres

Delatron · 28/07/2019 21:22

I think there’s a lot in London. We moved out of there 8 years ago. I only know one now in my area (S.Bucks) and he’s my 9 year old.

I kind of knew when I named him it was on the up and would become fashionable but I loved the name and didn’t care!
