Sister for Hazel and Zachary

Our first two children were very easy to name but we're having difficulty choosing a name for baby number three. Hazel and Zachary (Zach) are the first two.

Names I suggested that my husband likes:
Cora (I suggested it but not sure any more)
Alexandra (he likes the nickname Alex but I'm not keen on that, maybe Alexis, can't do Alexa!).

Other names I like:
Eliza (husband not keen)
Sienna (we are both kind of ok with this one but I'm not 100% sold yet).

Suggestions? Thanks!

A pity he's not keen on Eliza as it's lovely and would be great to have 3 'z' names!

Alexandra and Alexis are great too. I'm not such a fan of Cora or Sienna.

I agree! He's ok with Eliza as a middle name though so it might be used that way instead! Thanks for other suggestions. I had Susannah on my list because of the Z sound too but would have to have a different nickname to Susie which it would probably be shortened to.

Xenia, Zoe, Zena, actually, why do the names of your three children have to coordinate in any way? Just choose a name you both like.

Isobel, Julia, Lindsey

I’d avoid anything with a Z in it, it’s too matchy and suggests you see your children as a matching set of accessories rather than three individuals.

I also don’t like Cora with them - it’s too similar to the ‘chary’ part of Zachary

Susannah is nice and you could call her Suki if you don't want to go with Susie. How about

Mabel
Clara

Thanks for the suggestions. My husband likes Zoe but I don't particularly need/want another name starting with Z. Just something in a similar style I guess. I quite like Olivia but I'm put off by its popularity, plus husband not keen either...

Alexandra is really nice. You could have Lexie as nickname.

What about Cara I'd you are less sore about Cora?

When I saw the title I thought Tessa would work well.

user1471524301 · 19/07/2019 14:50

I like Lexie as a nickname for Alexandra, but DH says he would use Alex, which to me is a boys name... Cara's ok... a few weeks to go before decision time!

Your children have gorgeous names OP.
Hazel Zach and Tamsin/Tasmin? First name(s) that came to mind.

Please, not Eliza. It pops up in every thread (along with bloody Margot) and it’s such an ugly name.

Elsahappy3 · 21/07/2019 13:17

The first name I thought about before even reading the post was Zelie.

TatianaLarina · 21/07/2019 13:41

Alexandra by far.

Alex is definitely not a male name.

Beatrice would also go well.

burntpinky · 27/03/2020 14:44

@user1471524301 - what did you go for in the end?
