That won't seem out of place in most mainland European countries?

Only think I can think of is Alexander which I like but I'm not in love with

Patrick.

We have many forrin’ friends and family and nobody has ever had a problem with saying or spelling

I had the same dilemma when we named our DS. Alexander was my first choice for that reason but DH hates it.

We are both English but DH has Austrian heritage, mine is Welsh and French but we needed a name to work in Greek too so we named him Gregory. Would also have considered things like Philip and Christopher but I love the meaning of Gregory.

Some suggestions don't work well in other languages at all eg James or George!

Casper works well across Europe.

If DC2 ends up being a boy they will probably end up being Alexander mainly because my Italian relatives can pronounce it.

I keep asking DM to pronounce things for me
Theodore
Tobias
are nos as is anything else with a ‘th’ sound

On the plus side no one has had any trouble pronouncing Jasper or Tristan but I don’t love either of them

Emil? Its one of these names that seems to be widely used across Europe but rarely across the UK. I have only ever known two over here, which is a pity because I rather like it.
