What do you think of the same Santiago? The baby will be half English/half Asian so could perhaps look Mediterranean/South American in complexion although that's not me trying to give justification for using it.

Do you think it's strange to use it when there's no Spanish heritage?

I know a dc called Santiago, nn Santi. This isn't an unusual name in some Spanish speaking countries.

I really really wanted Mateo for DS who is half American half Welsh and went against it for the same reasons you're considered going against it. I'm not sure why, I loved the name but just didn't feel comfortable naming him a Latin name with no Latin heritage.

Santiago is in the top 100 most popular boys names in Spain, as well as in Mexico and Chile. It’s definitely not an unusual name in Spanish speaking countries.

Love the name Santiago and I think as long as he won't be pale with blue eyes and blonde hair you're probably fine
