Hello,

I have an Oscar and Felix already. Baby girl is due very soon.

After lots of deliberation we have finally agreed on Amelie (Mimi/ Ammy) as we have French family but I also love the name Harriet (Hattie).

I love both names and can't settle at all! I'd like some opinions! Thank you 😊 x x

Both lovely names, maybe pick which one she is once she arrives?

QueenOfThePumpkins · 10/07/2019 10:04

Harriet! Sorry Grin
Have always adored that name, but DH won't let me have it if we have a girl :(

monsieurmarius · 10/07/2019 10:39

Amelie is lovely

Snoopy90 · 10/07/2019 15:36

I like both but think l prefer Harriet as there lots of Emily/Amelias which sound similar to Amelie.

Shadow1234 · 10/07/2019 16:05

Prefer Amelie

kittytiggy · 10/07/2019 16:25

Amelie! But go with your heart OP. Harriet is more unique Smile

Hmmmbop · 10/07/2019 18:46

Harriet.

I absolutely hate Amelie, it just doesn't feel nice to say. I do not feel that way about Amelia though oddly!

Sophronia · 10/07/2019 23:57

Harriet, definitely.

Joeybee · 11/07/2019 00:01

Amelie is too frilly for me, and it's really popular. However I like that it's a nod to your French family.

Harriet I much prefer because it's strong, yet feminine and there's so much great potential for nicknames. Plus it's not too popular, nor is it unheard of.

MikeUniformMike · 12/07/2019 11:23

Harriet. Amelie is Ammerly in the UK. The french pronunciation is nice.

bridgetreilly · 12/07/2019 12:30

I much prefer Harriet, and it's also less popular than Amelie these days, which I think is going to be a name that dates badly.

BlueMerchant · 12/07/2019 12:33

Amelie is nicest of the two.

Icklepup · 12/07/2019 16:27

Harriet! Cute

daisypond · 12/07/2019 16:52

Please not Amelie! Harriet is better by far, though I’m not very keen. They are two very different style of names from opposite sides of the spectrum.

CloserIAm2Fine · 12/07/2019 22:55

Definitely Harriet

I really don’t like Amelie (although I love Amelia)

etotheb · 12/07/2019 22:56

Ooo I love both! But I think Harriet flows better with your sons names x

RickOShay · 12/07/2019 22:57

Harriet

Fatkins · 12/07/2019 22:59

Harriet by miles!

SoftSheen · 12/07/2019 23:02

Definitely Harriet! A beautiful but strong, classy girls' name.

Amelie is nice, but at the moment there are hundreds of Amelies, Amelias, Emilias, Emilys, etc.

Watersnail · 12/07/2019 23:52

I think Harriet goes well with Oscar and Felix.

DramaAlpaca · 12/07/2019 23:56

Harriet for me, it goes well with your boys' names & is nice & strong.

Amelie pronounced the French way is pretty, not so much when said by a native English speaker.

Astronica · 13/07/2019 02:03

I prefer Harriet.

barnaclejo · 13/07/2019 06:56

Harriet goes batter with your boys names in my opinion.

What about Coralie instead of Amelie?

barnaclejo · 13/07/2019 06:56

*better

Antonin · 13/07/2019 23:29

Amelie is by far the prettiest name
