Thoughts on the name Anya?

I've always really loved this name for a girl but curious what your thoughts are?!

If you have always loved it, then it’s perfect for your little one. I don’t love it, I think Tanya when I hear it. Which is my neighbours Alsatians name. But what matters is you love it. Congrats on baby! 💕

I too would spell it with a j - like it. Would think instinctively if some German ? Scandinavian ? Family heritage somewhere.

I like it. Elegant and a bit unusual, easy to spell, would translate easily into other languages if she lives abroad.....

I love it but it's my DD's name. It's a very popular old name in Poland and Russia. (I'm half Polish).

Love it. Used to babysit a wee (3yo) neighbour with that name and she was a sweetheart.

I like it and would also associate it with Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

But Anya is awesome in Buffy so that's a good thing

My brother's DD is Anya - love the name! She is Annie too.

I love it! It's uncommon/unusual without being weird. Works for all age groups. Depending on where in the country you are it will be pronounced On-ya or Anne-ya. Personally I prefer the first.

I love it! Timeless and elegant. I know an Anya, Anja and Ania (the latter is polish) so you can choose from several spellings too!
