Hi, first time poster here.

Looking for a girl's name which isn't too popular but not too 'out there' either! Any other suggestions welcome that work with a short surname

Opinions on these please (surname is only one syllable):

Florence (nn Flo)
Violet
Rosie
Millie
Clara

Thanks in advance!

Love love love Clara
Violet is ok
Not a fan of Rosie & Millie

AverageMummy · 08/07/2019 22:01

Others you might like that aren’t common:
Verity
Heidi
Beatrice

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 08/07/2019 22:20

I only Like Violet. However my dd was almost a Rosie. I can't abide the name, now, though.
I think for a one syllable surname you need a long first name. A short name will sound too harsh.
Abigail. Dorothy. Catherine.. Elizabeth. Courtney. Natalia
Victoria. Evelyn. Hannah. Jessica. Jennifer. Bethany. Alexandra. Alicia
Matilda. Penelope. Francesca.

MollyHuaCha · 08/07/2019 22:26

Florence - lovely, but not Flo
Violet - lovely
Rosie - sounds like a shortening
Millie - also sounds like a shortening
Clara - beautiful

carmenbea · 08/07/2019 22:31

Clara is my fave

Blackcountrychik83 · 08/07/2019 22:34

Eliza
Georgia
Liberty
Zoe
Sienna
Savannah
Felicity

Divgirl2 · 08/07/2019 22:46

Clara (also Cara) is beautiful.
I once read a list of names teachers dread and Rosie was on it - I do like it as a nn though. Plus this was a while ago - it's probably all Khaleesi-Nevaehs and Wyntur-Raynes now.
Violet is very popular at the minute.
Millie is a bit dull. And I'm not sure I like Florance.

How about:
Clementine
Aurora
Heather
Savannah

Shadow1234 · 09/07/2019 00:30

Clara is my favourite on your list

Rosa
Elayna
Elise
Erin
Brooke
Soraya

Peachbubble · 09/07/2019 06:39

If you're looking for a name that isn't too popular, I wouldn't go with Rosie or Millie. Florence and Violet are gaining in popularity, so Clara is probably the best choice. How about
Jemima
Flora
Elodie
Coral
Heidi
Tansy

userabcname · 09/07/2019 06:42

I think the only one that really fits your criteria is Clara. Love the suggestion of Jemima by a pp!

Lydia55y · 09/07/2019 07:14

I love Florence but the Flo nickname would put me off.

Clara is my second favourite. What about Harriet nn Hattie?

Icklepup · 09/07/2019 07:48

Violet!

SallyWD · 09/07/2019 07:52
