Thea Grace??? Honest Opinions!

Give it to me straight. I’d much rather have honest opinions now rather than my poor daughter being stuck with a bad name later.

What are your thoughts on Thea Grace?

We really love the name Thea! We aren’t sure if we should just go with Thea as a stand alone name or if Theodora nn Thea is better. If we did go with the later we have no intention of ever calling her Theodora. Is it silly to chose a name that is never used? Is Thea a legitimate, respectable stand alone name that will age well? Would she be better served to have the option of Theodora? Is Thea/Theodora a bad choice?

Grace is a sentimental family name so we are pretty set on using it. I know it’s a little blah and a common “filler” middle name, but it has a lot of meaning to our family.

Like I said, I really want your honest thoughts. You won’t hurt my feelings. Thanks so much!!

It's a great name. Thea is definitely a standalone name, timeless and suits all ages. Grace is lovely too.

Radiostar91 · 05/07/2019 21:50

I think you should call your child whatever you want to. Don't worry about what other people, go for it!

Ps it is a lovely name though Smile

workshyfop · 05/07/2019 21:53

Lovely!

BarryMcguigan · 05/07/2019 21:55

Love it! How are you pronouncing Thea? Tay-ya or Thee-ya?

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 05/07/2019 22:01

❤❤❤.Thea Grace. It just rolls off your tongue.
Its gentle and elegant and feminine.

Theodora however is bloody horrible.

MissKittyCrush · 05/07/2019 22:28

Thee-ya:)

insertrandomusername · 05/07/2019 22:44

I love it but I'm biased. I have my own baby Thea :)

Okyah · 05/07/2019 22:45

Beautiful and timeless.

Grandmi · 05/07/2019 23:06

boosterrooster · 05/07/2019 23:07

Beautiful name! Go for it

toomuchisneverenough · 05/07/2019 23:23

Simply beautiful... I'm away to ask my husband if we were ever to have another girl can we call her Thea

DramaAlpaca · 06/07/2019 00:24

I'm sorry, and I realise I'm in the minority here, but I really dislike Thea. To me it sounds weak, wet & lispy, it's not a strong name at all. And if you live in certain parts of the UK it'll get pronounced the same as 'fear', which isn't great.

But my opinion is irrelevant, if you love it that's what matters.

tdam · 06/07/2019 01:24

I absolutely love the name Thea. Much more so than Theodora. And Thea Grace is lovely :)

Mammalian · 06/07/2019 01:26

Love it

Boinky · 06/07/2019 01:33

Nice. Relatively trendy. I know a few young Theas and Grace as a middle name is certainly very popular.

SemperIdem · 06/07/2019 01:33

It is really lovely.

Kokeshi123 · 06/07/2019 02:59

I think it's a bit bland, but there is nothing "wrong" with it.

Thea as a standalone name is fine. Dorothea could be an alternative. I agree, Theadora is not so nice.

OkPedro · 06/07/2019 03:04

As long as where you live its pronounced Thea and not Fee ah
Thea grace is a great name

RoseMartha · 06/07/2019 03:14

I like it

Shadow1234 · 06/07/2019 03:28

Thea is a lovely name, but, also agree with 'OkPedro' - that as long as people don't pronounce it as 'fear' then it's fine.

IdblowJonSnow · 06/07/2019 03:44

I like it very much. And to me it isn't a weak name.

EileenAlanna · 06/07/2019 04:22

Both those names are lovely & Thea has beautiful & interesting meaning. nameberry.com/babyname/Thea
