Baby girl names shortlist - HELP!

elliandher5 · 03/07/2019 10:14

This is my second thread now - I'm 34 weeks and she could come any time now (my babies like to come early)
I already have:
Ivy
Tommy
Brodie

I like 2 syllable names ending in an ee sound. I'm thinking more towards a name ending in ie as it fits the pattern???

Here's the shortlist -
Macy
Elsie
Sadie
Cassie
Zoe

Please tell me how you feel about each name!

The only one I like is Cassie, but Cassia is much nicer.

AverageMummy · 03/07/2019 10:17

Macy - hate sorry
Elsie - lovely
Sadie - lovely
Cassie - prefer Cassia
Zoe - feels very dated

carmenbea · 03/07/2019 10:18

Cassie is my fave and I like Macy too.

Disfordarkchocolate · 03/07/2019 10:19

Love Macy, my favourite from your list.

laylasmummy08 · 03/07/2019 10:22

I'm due in 2 weeks and we are naming her Sadie. I love Cassie that's cute I also love Connie which was on my list

Theoldwoman · 03/07/2019 10:22

I would have steered clear of another name ending in the same sound, too mitchy matchy for me.

Anyway:

Ivy
Tommy
Brodie

and ...

I am not a fan of any of those names, sorry!
And please don't stick to a pattern, these are names for real people!

Some I like are:

Ivy, Tommy, Brodie and:

Felicity
Hayley
Bethany
Emily
Lucy
Melanie
Sophie

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 03/07/2019 11:40

Macy. Don't like.
Elsie. Nice name.
Cassie. By far the nicest. Its very sweet. Ivy and Cassie sound devine together.
Zoe. Don't like it.

Sauvignonblanket · 03/07/2019 11:45

Sadie!

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 03/07/2019 11:47

Macy- very cute, not sure how it stands once a child is older, i.e 20s
Elsie- too old fashioned for my liking, getting popular though
Sadie- love
Cassie- love
Zoe- I went back and forth on this name, i kept thinking zoe in eastenders

Other suggestions:

Millie
Phoebe
Amy

Moongirl10 · 03/07/2019 11:49

The only one I like is Cassie.

aibutohavethisusername · 03/07/2019 11:50

Love Elsie and Cassie.

TreeSunset · 03/07/2019 11:53

Bonkers all the people saying don’t have a pattern after 3 kids! Of course you want the 4th to be the same!

I think Sadie and Zoe are lovely and fit with the other kids

PotatoCity · 03/07/2019 11:56

Macy - really dislike
Elsie - love
Sadie - really like
Cassie - ok but top nicknamey for me
Zoe - like but not with a Brodie as they rhyme!

I love Phoebe if you’re open to suggestions!

Personally it would be too matchy for me to have them all follow this pattern, I’d prob go for a longer name if you are set on the ee ending (Amelie, Elodie etc).

elliandher5 · 03/07/2019 13:06

Thanks everyone! I only really started thinking about the pattern recently and I've always been attracted to 2 syllable simpler names as mine is Ellianna and it's a pain in the neck!!!
None of my children's names are short for anything but I do really like Cassia and Cassie for short. I'll have to mention that to DH later!
Ruled out Zoe as like somebody said above, it's too rhymey with Brodie.

For me it's really between Sadie and Cassia (but she would be known as Cassie)

Keep replies coming!

I'd go the whole hog and call her Cassiopeia with Cassie for short.

paperandfireworks · 03/07/2019 13:26

Love Elsie and Cassie. Sadie is very popular around here but have heard Shadie (mispronounced by toddler friends and teasing) and the real Slim SadieBlush

Fatkins · 03/07/2019 15:34

Macy - a bit too like Maisie. Not for me. A bit too cutesy.
Elsie - seems to be having a moment. I am lukewarm about it and think it would get massacred in certain accents.
Sadie - LOVE
Cassie - not keen. It seems a bit unfinished. I do like loads of nickname-y names, but this seems a bit blah, like "where's the rest of it"?

Zoe - LOVE

KarineAimee · 03/07/2019 16:37

Sadie and Cassie are fab, my choice of the two would be Cassie, but both are lovely names.

Pinkmalinky · 03/07/2019 17:16

I only like Elsie, the others aren’t to my taste.
