Boring or classic?

We're expecting shortly and have a shortlist for DS, we do have a favourite but I can't think of a middle name for any of them.
Also can we use one of them if it's the name of a close female friend (I think she would be delighted) and a distant family members rabbit

They are:

William
Edward (won't be teddy)
Thomas
Frankie

Edward and nn ned

Oh and I'd have James as a middle name.

I agree Frankie is not a classic though Francis is

William, Edward (would go for nn Ned) & Thomas all good options

Samuel nn Sam, Sammy
Charles nn Charlie, Chuck
Henry nn Harry, Hal, Hank..?

I love William
Edwards ok but prefer the NN Bear
The others aren't to my taste at all

Edward is one classic name that I really like. Can’t go wrong with that.

No, I don't think classic equals boring.

Lots of classic names that aren't so widely used are interesting and not boring at all. Examples might include

Magnus
Dominic
Tristan
Quentin
Vincent
Leonard
