Which name combo for twin girls?

We want strong, feisty names for our twin girls. Which combo do you prefer?

Frieda and Nina
Aphra and Greta
Tess and Olive
Dorothea and Emmeline

Dorothea and Emmeline followed by Tess and Olive.

SleepingStandingUp · 18/06/2019 23:05

Dorothea and Emmeline

MyInnerAlto · 18/06/2019 23:08

Oh, I really like them all, apart from Tess and Olive (just sound a bit flat and ordinary compared to all the others). I think Frieda and Nina edge it for me.

LittleDoritt · 18/06/2019 23:10

I like Dorothea and Tess Grin

Of your pairs though, Frieda and Nina.

barnet · 18/06/2019 23:11

Frieda and Nina

Blinkingblimey · 18/06/2019 23:12

Nina & Tess 😁

username1724 · 18/06/2019 23:13

I like Aphra and Emmeline

MightyAtlantic · 18/06/2019 23:13

Not keen on any of those combinations, sorry. Tess, Nina and Greta are the best names.
I don't think strong and feisty when I hear Dorothea and Emmeline.

AverageMummy · 18/06/2019 23:20

I think strong & feisty is absolutely what you’ve nailed here - although I’d probably mix up the combos so they’re more contrasting. I think my favourite combo would be:

Olive & Emmeline

All awesome though !

Sophronia · 18/06/2019 23:27

Frida (prefer this spelling to Frieda) and Greta would be great.

angeltop · 18/06/2019 23:28

Dea4 Lord, none

monsieurmarius · 18/06/2019 23:38

Frieda and Nina

springydaff · 18/06/2019 23:42

But they might not be strong and feisty people?

Don't you want to meet them first to see what would suit?

RedPink · 18/06/2019 23:43

Why are you trying to chose a combo? Why don't you just chose the two names you like the best. You are having kids not choosing a new brand name 😅.

I would chose the two individual
Names You like the best then make sure they don't sound bad together or sound too similar and go from there.

Congrats 💐💐

I like Tess, Greta and Dorothea. Not so keen on the other names so hard for me to choose one of your pairs. Tess and Greta?

LadyGardens · 18/06/2019 23:52

@speingydaff - I love the idea that I will get a good idea of their personalities in the days after they are born. These are my third and fourth kids, I’m under no illusion that I will know what they are going to be like from those hazy newborn days.

Aphra is my favourite by miles. I love it.

I think I'd choose Nina to pair it with. I'm not that keen on any of the others in comparison to Aphra though.

I would assume you had Austrian or German roots if you went with Frieda and Greta together. Or even with Frieda alone.

Moongirl10 · 19/06/2019 00:38

Nina and Emmeline.

AverageMummy · 19/06/2019 00:53

@springydaff personalities start really showing from about 1. I think you legally have to register in the first 6 weeks so it’s probably not a good idea to wait for a sense of their feistiness or otherwise before naming ?!!

AverageMummy · 19/06/2019 00:53

@LadyGardens my first child SLEPT & SLEPT & SLEPT for a few weeks. Then BANG did he wake up Grin

springydaff · 19/06/2019 01:09

I just got an instinct, a gut feel for them when they were born. We had a few names ready but it seemed obvious which ones suited the person before me - and which ones absolutely didn't!

That's how it was for me, anyway.

irisheyesaresmiling7 · 19/06/2019 02:00

Frieda and Nina are my favourites.

LadyGardens · 19/06/2019 07:09

Thanks all. If it helps my first two children are Theo and Ezra. Do you think the girls names need to be short because of this?

AverageMummy · 19/06/2019 07:41

@LadyGardens no I don’t think so at all but I’m one who thinks siblings don’t need to ‘match’
