Hi, a couple of weeks ago I asked for names for twins, I didn’t know the genders but I had them on Friday and we still haven’t got any names, they are both girls. Our other three children are:
-Noah
-Finley
-Blair (girl)

Names I like are:
-Eden
-Ellis
-I’ve
-Violet
-Willow
-Anthem

Please help us pick the perfect names!

Congratulations!

Love Blair, gorgeous name.

Eden and Ellis are both lovely names or if you don’t want the same initial how about Quinn and Ellis, they both seem to have the same sort of unisex vibe as Blair

Gigis · 16/06/2019 21:17

Congratulations! I like Eden and Ivy as a pair, if you don't mind the slightly religious undertones of having a Noah and Eden.

carmenbea · 16/06/2019 21:18

Violet and willow are lovely

Elmo303 · 16/06/2019 21:29

Love the previous poster’s suggestion of Quinn. Quinn and Violet would be pretty. Or since you seem to like nature-themed names do you like Wren? Wren and Violet? Congratulations on your twin girls!

VittysCardigan · 16/06/2019 21:31

On the nature theme how about Wren & Rowan

5kidsbutnosleep · 16/06/2019 21:38

VittysCardigan thanks for the suggestion, after researching the name Rowan I have seen that it means “little redhead” as it produces red berries which would be perfect as they have ginger hair! I will definitely be suggesting it to dh

I have twins and we decided that their names should be "in keeping" with each other - ours are both a bit Victorian in flavour - but not "match" in any way.

So no repeat initials, no two flower names etc.

We did a parenting course with TAMBA - it wad fab and highly recommend - and it talked all about helping twins develop individuality. Little things you wouldn't think of necessarily, like making sure to take individual photos of significant moments.

For me, names are really important to their individuality. If they are Edith and Enid, or Rose and Daisy or whatever, they are just half of a themed duo.

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 16/06/2019 21:58

Reading back that was really preachy - sorry am knackered Blush

VittysCardigan · 16/06/2019 22:41

Yay. Hope he likes it. What about Elinor

The name Elinor is a Greek babyname. In Greek the meaning of the name Elinor is: Shining light. The bright one.

AverageMummy · 16/06/2019 22:47

Love Rowan

Rowan and Ellis are beautiful together but maintain each having their own individual identity

I also love Eden & Willow together

Shadow1234 · 17/06/2019 00:03

Love Eden, Ellis and Willow. Hard to choose just two tbh.

I would be happy with either of these 3.

SavageBeauty73 · 17/06/2019 00:17

If I had twin girls (I had boys) I would have called them Isla and Skye.

UnderTheTree · 17/06/2019 01:05

Really nice names OP other than Anthem.

I think Willow and Violet go together quite well.

As does Eden and Ellis (which would be my favourite pair)

I probably wouldn't put Violet and Ivy together as they are both colour names so a bit matchy.

gokartdillydilly · 17/06/2019 01:27

Anthem?!!! 😂😂😂

Kokeshi123 · 17/06/2019 01:31

Agree with PP, no matching initials, no rhymes and no match meanings like two flower or jewel names. Most twins themselves are adamant that they do not like this.

I think Eden and Willow sound nice together.

Astronica · 17/06/2019 01:44

I would cross off Anthem from your list, all the others are okay. I particularly like: Rowan, Ivy, Eden, Violet and Willow. Quinn is nice suggestion. I agree with pps to avoid 2 obviously nature names (Ivy and Violet) or 2 beginning with same letter. Rowan is not so obviously nature so happy to use that with Violet.

Pairs I like are

Violet and Eden
Violet and Rowan
Ellis and Rowan

Others you may like: Piper, Pippa, Indigo, Tamsin, Maeve, Tess, Niamh/Neve, Juno, Greer.

littlemissmoomoo · 17/06/2019 04:04

Eden and Willow are gorgeous together

whatausername · 17/06/2019 04:45

Congratulations. I really like PP suggestions and would choose Elinor & Rowan. From your list I'd pick Ellis and Willow. I like Eden & Willow but the names have too similar a theme for twins.

paddington34 · 17/06/2019 04:52

Please not Anthem. Not keen on Ellis but the others are nice. Love Blair. What about Everly?

Kokeshi123 · 17/06/2019 11:55

And I agree, Anthem is just NO. Imagine spending your life having to introduce yourself by saying "I'm 'andsome..." with a lisp....

Wallabyone · 17/06/2019 11:57

OP possibly means Anthea?! Good name!

AshQ · 17/06/2019 12:07

Love Rowan. Violet and Rowan.

mistermagpie · 17/06/2019 13:47

Just barging in to ask how are people pronouncing Rowan? Is it Row as in 'row row row your boat' or like 'we had a row about splitting the bill'?

AshQ · 17/06/2019 14:15

I always thought it was row rhyming with cow (Scottish accent) but I’m not sure.

VittysCardigan · 17/06/2019 14:41

I've always pronounced it to rhyme with 'row yr boat'
