Asking for a friend.
She is almost certain on Delilah and Juniper. To be known as Lilah and Juno. I know some people will hate these names, but are there any suggestions or negative connotations or maybe similar names she could consider? I personally think they're fab, strong names, but my friend just wants to get it perfect bless her!

I'd just register as Lilah and Juno. They're established in their own right. There's no need for a longer version on the birth certificate, unlike say something like Samantha for a Sammy.

fairynick · 09/06/2019 21:09

Yeah I said that along with a few others, she definitely loves the name Delilah so I think that will definitely go on the certificate but she seems to love Juno and have plucked Juniper from there.

All four are fabulous

QueenoftheBiscuitTin · 09/06/2019 21:11

Just Lilah and Juno would be lovely. What's the point putting Delilah and Juniper if no one's going to call them that?

fairynick · 09/06/2019 22:23

That's true. I think she just likes "proper" names kind of thing.

Love them all.

taylorlynn · 09/06/2019 22:29

Love Delilah don't like Juniper personally but they sound nice together

TurquoiseAndPurple · 09/06/2019 22:46

Absolutely love all 4! Wouldn't normally like Delilah but I think it's so gorgeous with Juniper ❤️

CoffeeRunner · 09/06/2019 23:45

Lilah & Juno are great!

I wouldn’t bother with the longer versions either personally.

ThrowThoseCurtainsWide · 09/06/2019 23:47

I know a Juniper and she is totally gorgeous. I prefer Delilah & Juniper to Lilah and Juno

Penny4Thoughts · 09/06/2019 23:50

Delilah is gorgeous - I think most of her negative biblical associations are mainly being non Israelite
Juniper is lovely but Juno is a Goddess & a very established name in it’s own right so on that she could go with either

Both lovely

MiniMum97 · 10/06/2019 00:08

I like all the names too!

Kokeshi123 · 10/06/2019 01:01

I think Delilah on the BC is best because it gives more options--and because Lilah will create lots of pronunciation issues unless people know it is short for Delilah.

Not mad on Juniper but I suppose it is fairly well known these days so at least it's not "weird."

Astronica · 10/06/2019 01:57

I'm another who would much prefer Lilah and Juno as the actual names. These are names and not nicknames. I do get how you would get Juno as a nn for Juniper, but really they are quite different names and I would choose one or the other in this case.

milkshake435 · 10/06/2019 07:58

Love all names ! I would also be on the agreement to register the names as what they are going to be called it does save confusion in the long run! I have a friend who is registered Anna never ever used and also known as Annie who has had endless official documents filled in this name which she has had to sort out which has been costly and timely. On this note( sorry to jump on thread) would people just registered DD Betsy rather than Elizabeth ?

maimainomai · 10/06/2019 08:19

Lilah and Juno are both great names!
Delilah and Juniper are nice but I personally really prefer Lilah and Juno...

Lilyannarose · 10/06/2019 09:44

They're both beautiful names and fit together perfectly.
I love the shortened versions too.

SnowyAlpsandPeaks · 10/06/2019 09:55

I love Delilah and Juniper and I love the shortened versions too. I personally would go for the longer versions on the birth certificate.

Antonin · 10/06/2019 12:24

I dislike Delilah because of the deceitful woman connotations from the Biblical story. Not a nice woman. This association followed up by the Tom Jones song — man tricked by a woman.

FizzyGreenWater · 10/06/2019 14:07

I think the names are great, and like the idea of the longer names on the bc - it just gives the children more choice when they are older, so why not?

LegoPiecesEverywhere · 10/06/2019 19:03

Lovely name

Owlbert · 10/06/2019 21:46

All lovely!

rachelgrace · 11/06/2019 20:57

I like both names. I actually prefer the nickname Juno to the actual name Juniper. Delilah is beautiful as long as she is okay with Hey There Delilah references.

Bezalelle · 11/06/2019 21:10

I'd just go with Delilah and Juno, to be known as Lilah and Juno. The 'niper' part of Juniper puts me off. Not a pretty sound.

Lilah and Juno are fab names!

starkid · 12/06/2019 17:04

I'd tell her they're lovely names, but that Juno is a fab name in its own right, so if she prefers that she really doesn't need to have it as Juniper.

Also congratulations to her from me! :)
