I really like it but I worry it’s a bit odd. What do you think of the name?

I love it for a boy or a girl.. Unless they are born in August, then it's just twee imo.

I like it. I don't agree it should only be used if the child is born in August, that sounds too twee for my liking.

Baby due in December, I quite like August for a boy or Augusta for a girl. I’m glad to hear others like it!

If it's a December baby, the rule is you have to call if Noel or Holly.

I think August is great. Love nns Gus and Augie too. Best for a baby not born in August.

I'd go for Augustus known as Gus for a boy, which is nice. Augusta for a girl reminds me of Lady Bracknell, sorry.

Oh I like August. Sounds elegant and dignified, but hate the nn’s Gus and Oggie, which are anything but.

IIRC August was the real name of 80s pop star Kid Creole (who had the Coconuts) and I liked him.

I love it. It's on my list if we have a boy, but DH isn't keen as he thinks it's a girls name :(
(FWIW our baby's due in November - I like the name for it's meaning and wouldn't necessarily associate it with the month at all.)
