Torn between Casper and Wilfred (Wilf/Wilfie for short). Any views? Thanks x

I love Wilfred. Casper is OK.

HappyDinosaur · 28/05/2019 14:18

Love Wilfred, definitely one I would consider for a boy.

cathf · 28/05/2019 14:21

Both names are very 'now' so will date.

LarkDescending · 28/05/2019 16:42

Caspar (this spelling) for me. I love it.

sue51 · 28/05/2019 17:04

Love them both but Wilfred has the edge for me.

Athers666 · 29/05/2019 22:36

I have a five month old Casper! We've had very mixed reactions about his name but we like it😂

tresbe · 29/05/2019 23:15

I love both but would probably go for wilf.

DramaAlpaca · 29/05/2019 23:17

I dislike both, but Casper is the least worst.

Bouncingbelle · 30/05/2019 01:22

Neither but Casper if i absolutely had to choose one.

llangennith · 30/05/2019 01:33

Of all the boys' names in the world those are the two you've come up with?Confused

FlipFloppyFlop · 30/05/2019 01:48

Neither. And Casper the friendly ghost springs to mind.

MikeUniformMike · 30/05/2019 08:26

Caspar not Casper. Wilf is ok too.

TurquoiseAndPurple · 30/05/2019 13:11

Casper the friendly ghost springs to mind.

At least he was friendly 🤷‍♀️

PassMeTheWine · 30/05/2019 13:18

Casper

Haz1516 · 30/05/2019 13:22

Neither my favourites. A bit wet and 'posh'.

Jasper a little better? Or just Wilf?

CakeRattleandRoll · 30/05/2019 16:00

Casper.

Moondancer73 · 30/05/2019 21:10

Both awful. Seriously, names that are going to get them picked on at school. Don't do it!

Proseccofuelled · 30/05/2019 21:23

@moondancer73 I somehow doubt it compared to the several thousand names used a year Caspar is pretty ‘normal’.

TheMistressQuickly · 30/05/2019 21:26

Wilf wilf wilf!!!

MooBaaLaLaLa · 30/05/2019 21:39

I hardly think they will get picked on at school, they are perfectly normal names for this generation. I know a young Caspar and at least 3 little Wilfreds at the moment.

Allhailthesun · 30/05/2019 23:04

No one can name a twat called Wilfred though! Wilfis a great abbreviation and he can do the eye roll at Wilfred without it being too horrendous especially when they do War Poetry Yr8 Autumn term at school..

Casper’s ok but s.ightly more try hard,

Tillygetsit · 30/05/2019 23:04

Wilf!!!!!!

funkythighcollector · 30/05/2019 23:16

I wouldn’t use Casper if he is likely to have pale skin, in case he gets bullied (though do kids even know about Casper the ghost now?). Wilfred makes me think dog because of the tv show

Bouncingbelle · 31/05/2019 01:52

Wilf or Casper would definately get picked on in central scotland, especially wilf.lt might work if you live in a posh london suburb and have got his name down for Eton i suppose.

OkPedro · 31/05/2019 02:04

Wilfred is just old man though isn’t it? I can’t imagine looking at a newborn and thinking Wilfred.. reminds me of Wilbur the talking horse. Caspar is decent, i don’t think this generation would link it to Casper the ghost?
I don’t agree that there are lots of nice boys names. I struggled to name my son 7 years ago. There are so many lovely and different girls names to choose from. So many boys are boring or ridiculous
