Jane (boring?) - nice for a middle name.
Nancy (too tragic?)- love love love
Adeline - like
Dorothy - like
Jemima - puddle duck

EngagedAgain · 26/05/2019 17:19

Jemima - like this

Leo - like this
Walter - no

Ralph - no
Roland - nope, old name man
Robin - a bit wet and weedy.
Peter - don't mind

Pinkvoid · 26/05/2019 18:19

Ada- I love this so much. If I had another daughter I would strongly consider this name.
Louisa (does this feel dated because of Louise?)- not a fan, does feel dated
Norah (ruined by stockings?)- Norah Batty but also Norah Jones, I’m not keen
Audrey (too soon?) - too grandma but not in a cool way
Lena - Dunham, I like her but not this name
Jane (boring?) - plain Jane, very tedious
Nancy (too tragic?)- Nancy boy, not a fan.
Adeline - pretty
Dorothy - old fashioned but again, not in a cool way
Jemima - love this name

Leo - the lion. Not a fan
Walter (pretentious?) - highly and also old fashioned but not in a cool way
Henry - love this name, a timeless classic
Ralph - nope
Roland - rat!!! No way.
Robin - like it
Peter (dull?)- it is a bit plain.

I’d go with Ada or Jemima for a girl and Henry for a boy.

Chocolatecake12 · 26/05/2019 18:26

NeverPutAWetFootInABirkenstock · 26/05/2019 18:34

Forgot the boys!
Forgot the boys!
Leo - like it, I know a lovely one
Walter - can't get on board with this, there are nicer fugly names
Henry - pompous
Ralph - are you going Ralph as in Wreck It, or Rafe as in Spall? I only like the first one, and I like it a lot.
Roland - stop it
Robin - nice for a child, but a bit limp for an adult
Peter - I like it!

Awrite · 26/05/2019 18:36

I really love Jane. Janey as a nickname.

Not keen on the rest.

Don't like any of your boys names.

Malyshek · 26/05/2019 18:44

Proseccofuelled - would it help to have your husband read/watch the Master and Commander book series/movie ? Hero Jack Aubrey is pretty cool !

MikeUniformMike · 26/05/2019 18:48

I love Jane but dislike Jayne.

ProudmummytoMA · 26/05/2019 18:58

Ada - don't like it, makes me think of the pg tips monkey that was in the advert on TV when I was a child in the 80s!
Louisa (does this feel dated because of Louise?) - like this, doesn't feel dated
Norah (ruined by stockings?) - norah batty
Audrey (too soon?) - like this
Lena - lovely
Jane (boring?) - dated and boring
Nancy (too tragic?) - love this
Adeline - don't like it but not sure why, just don't like the sound of it
Dorothy - nice, but can't imagine calling a baby/child this
Jemima - like this one too, but I hear Jemima and think puddleduck

Leo - like but feels very common
Walter (pretentious?) - love it because it was my grandfather's name, but I can't imagine using it for a little person as I see it as an old man's name
Henry - it's OK, nothing special
Ralph - like this
Roland - makes me think of a rat, again showing my age!
Robin - nice
Peter (dull?) - I grew up with lots of Peters in the 80s so feels dated

My favourites are Nancy and Ralph.

Haworthia · 26/05/2019 19:03

Ada is lovely but everyone is using it right now. Not sure I’d want to be 10th Ada in the class.

Are you mad? Its nowhere near the top ten! It’s still outside the top 100 IIRC.

Eustasiavye · 26/05/2019 19:04

Ada - I could see this becoming popular. Similar to Ava.
Louisa- nice and classic.
Norah - I don't like it. Too old fashioned in an ugly way. Norah Batty.
Audrey - could be nice. Sadly depends on the child. Audrey Hepburn was amazing, Audrey Roberts not so much.
Jemima - lovely name.
Nancy - no don't like it.
Adeline - nice. Not common and not boring.
Dorothy - only if you have a dog called Toto.
Jane - a classic and due a come back.
Lena -ok very meh.

Leo - no, doesn't inspire me.
Walter - initially no but it might catch on in the same way that Archie and Arthur have.
Henry - only use it if you don't mind him being one of several in his class.
Ralph - love this. Pronounce it Rafe though as it should be.
Roland - a make of keyboard or a rat.
Robin - no. I knew an awful one at school.
Peter - nice and classic.

Namastbae · 26/05/2019 19:07

I like Audrey and Walter and actually I'm surprised at how much I like Louisa. She'd be the only one in her class, guarantee. Peter is totally due a come back, love it.

Sophronia · 26/05/2019 19:25

I love Louisa, Peter and Henry, and I like Ada, Jemima, Dorothy, Jane, Lena, Leo, Walter and Robin.
