Timeless and elegant

Hello,

We now know our fourth is a little girl. :)

After Josephine, Iris and Theodore struggling to decide on a name. Confused

I’d like something timeless and elegant like I feel Josephine and Iris are. Classic but not too popular.

I like the following:

Florence - too popular?
Beatrice - too popular?
Eleanor - but rhymes too much with Theodore?
Alice - too close to Iris
Rose - a 2nd flower, really?
Harriet
Georgiana
Phoebe
Arabella
Elinor
Charlotte - too popular?
Ottilie

Welcoming other suggestions and feedback.

Thank you!!

Florence - lovely
Beatrice - really doslike
Eleanor - I dont think it's so close on sound to Theodore that it would be a problem! Very pretty
Alice - my favourite name :)
Rose - not keen
Harriet - nice
Georgiana - not 100% keen but really like Georgina
Phoebe - really like
Arabella - bit much for me
Elinor - prefer eleanor
Charlotte - nice
Ottilie - really like

You may like:
Anastasia
Genevieve
Aurelia
Ophelia
Adelaide

This might be a bit too much but if you like timeless and elegant names look back through the royal family' s family tree, theres some lovely names that the princesses have had throughout the last few centuries!

I don't feel that Iris is elegant at all, have known 3 and none of them were anything like elegant so am probably biased.

However, spell it Irys and it changes it somehow.
I like Florence.
Charlotte would become Lottie.

^^ That's a bit rude considering she said she already has a daughter called Iris, not that she was thinking about the name.

WitsEnding · 25/05/2019 14:37

Florence used to be Flo or Flossie, don't know whether that is still the case.
I like Isabelle (although there are lots in the 1990s baby generation) and short names. Also Lydia and Irene.

I like Georgiana from your list! For something with a more French feel how about Margot or Sophie?

I also love your first three children’s names

I’m not sure any of the names on your list are quite right for the reasons you suggest

What about:
Sophie (unless your Josephine is Josie, in which case too close)
Anna

I am loving Katherine as a classic and surprisingly underused name at the moment.
