Thoughts on the name Ocean??

Ondine sounds like a mouthwash!

Glitterandunicorns · 24/05/2019 22:05

I heard a parent shout of his daughter called Ocean in the park the other day. It sounded AWFUL.

YourSarcasmIsDripping · 24/05/2019 22:14

Middle name eleven Grin

FannyFeatures · 24/05/2019 22:16

There are 3 Ocean/Osian's in my daughter's school.

I don't mind it, I've heard worse but I wouldn't use it myself.

theconstantinoplegardener · 24/05/2019 22:42

How about Maris or Marina? Same meaning but arguably a nicer sound.

madcatladyforever · 24/05/2019 22:44

Awful. An ocean is a large body of water not a baby.

BummyKnocker · 24/05/2019 22:46

NO.

Esme, with that spelling, it is already unusual, no need to go overboard.

Kelis22 · 24/05/2019 22:48

Thanks everyone .. don't think I'm going to stick with it

I know two Oceans a boy and a girl and they have no issues. I wouldn't personally but wouldn't find a problem with it either.

Rainbowknickers · 24/05/2019 22:56

I like it but I like unusual names (my 1st born should count herself lucky I didn’t call her rainbow brite) in real life on a real child-maybe not

PointlessUsername · 24/05/2019 22:59

I know an Ocean (boy) he has no trouble with the name & it suits him.

I Like it.

starzig · 24/05/2019 23:09

Love it

Time40 · 24/05/2019 23:12

No. It's like calling your child 'Rainbow' or 'Star' or something equally daft.

Ivgotasecretcanyoukeepit · 24/05/2019 23:18

Ridiculous name Hmm

ballsdeep · 24/05/2019 23:23

Awful. It's not even a name. It's like calling your child shark or cloud.
It's just something not a person

blue2014 · 24/05/2019 23:28

I love it

babysharkah · 24/05/2019 23:33

Are you trying to get 'oh-sheen' out of ocean?? It's bloody awful.

Frogarmy · 24/05/2019 23:34

If you love it, you would use it and wouldn't need to ask us. I knew I loved DD's names from the beginning when DD was still a bump. We've had nothing but compliments about her name.

I love Ava. It is beautiful.

I actually don't mind Ocean, it wouldn't be my choice, but then, I'm not naming your baby. Grin

C0untDucku1a · 24/05/2019 23:39

Go for Océane or Esmé

vodkaredbullgirl · 25/05/2019 00:38

Ocean 11 comes to mind lol
