Brie

Could I call a baby Brie, or is it too American and/or too cheesy? 🤔

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MsMustDoBetter · 17/05/2019 08:33

Too cheesy.

UrsulaPandress · 17/05/2019 08:37

I know a Breeze.

Minniemagoo · 17/05/2019 10:52

Bree is the name
See to me Bree is the horse from the Narnia book

UrsulaPandress · 17/05/2019 10:53

Love that book.

Destinationunknown1 · 17/05/2019 17:11

It's a wobbly, rich cheese. Why would you call your child after a cheese?!

stepup123 · 17/05/2019 17:19

It's not as awful as some of the suggestions on here, but it is usually spelt bree. It reminds me of desperate housewives

Lookingforpizza · 17/05/2019 17:22

I know a very cute Brie and it’s changed my perception of the name, I think it’s really nice, if you like it go for it

Reallybadidea · 17/05/2019 17:41

Brie is awful.
Bree is a bit better.
Brianna is OK until you realise that it's the feminine form of Brian.

BertrandRussell · 17/05/2019 17:44

How can Bree be better than Brie unless it’s written down?

procrastinatingtoday · 17/05/2019 18:14

Thanks for thoughts (and jokes 😁). I personally don't like Brianna, Bree etc. Gabrielle is nice actually, but does remind me as well of Desperate housewives 😃

OP posts:
MarniLou · 17/05/2019 18:54

I really like it! Especially as the shortened version of Brianna.

BlueMerchant · 17/05/2019 18:55

Really don't like it.

HavelockVetinari · 17/05/2019 19:01

I wouldn't use it on its own.

Also, where do you live? In the North of Scotland (Highlands and Isles) bree means stock or gravy in Scots, or a commotion if you speak Gaelic.

CloserIAm2Fine · 17/05/2019 19:44

No it’s awful, Brianna or Brianne is much nicer

FogCutter · 17/05/2019 20:07

Its a cheese.

You would need a longer name with bree as nickname eg

Brielle
Bridget
Brianne etc

VoteJadot · 17/05/2019 20:52

Can you imagine the poor kid at age fourteen going on her GCSE French exchange?

BasinHaircut · 17/05/2019 20:56

I like Bree but wouldn’t use it as a full name. I also LOVE Brianna so would use that with Bree for short.

I don’t like Brie cheese though.

username1724 · 18/05/2019 23:56

Brianna I think is lovely, also know a Briya

HPLikecraft · 20/05/2019 15:48

Dont be silly, OP.

outsho · 20/05/2019 18:35

It’s a manky smelly cheese.

Mammaaofxx · 31/12/2019 22:31

Wish I never read this thread now 🤣🤣 my 2yr old is called Brie 🙈🙈🙈 I liked it from Brie Bella the wrestler. Atleast I know none will copy it 🤣

LuluJakey1 · 31/12/2019 22:32

I prefer Cambazola- more exotic sounding.

Sh0na · 31/12/2019 22:34

Nn for Briony or Bridget and spelled Bree not Brie

Don't put Brie on a birth cert! Trop fromagey

DecemberSnow · 31/12/2019 22:34

Cheese

Mammaaofxx · 31/12/2019 22:35

Oops maybe I should have seen this thread over 2 years ago 🤣🤣 her name on birth certificate is just Brie
