Boys name Woody short for Edward

I'd love honest opinions on the boys name Woody as a nn for Edward please? He would be brother to Albert (Bertie) and Florence (Florrie). Don't know sex but currently really stuck on the boy options! Girl would be Nancy. Thanks all

Oh I should have said that our other boy option is Wilfred shortened to Fred. All thoughts / opinions most welcome!

Woody makes me think of an erection

Woody isn't short for Edward. Ted, Teddy, Ed, Eddie are short for Edward. Unless you are planning on calling him Edwood, woody doesn't make sense.

And Woody has all manner of unpleasant connotations.

I dislike Woody and don't associate it with the name Edward. I wouldn't pronounce Edward as Ed-wood.

Woody is a shortening for Woodrow like Woody Guthrie but not really for Edward.

@PinkDaffodil2 I think that's why I'm so unsure and keen for opinions! It's clearly not a diminutive of Edward, but I'm not keen on Woodrow. Pretty sure all the erection comments have unnerved me too much to risk it anyway!
