The Wright Stuff presenter and CBeebies presenter are the same person I think.

There are nicer hippy nature names out there if you're trying to make a point of some kind about your own personality through your child's name. Though I love storms in themselves, you're setting her up for a lifetime of preconceived personality traits (and not just because of the 'out there' theme) due to the negative connotations of the name, women have a hard time as it is if they have forceful personalities without "oh look Storm's brewing again!" And the like.....

I may be over thinking. But then I do tend to when naming my own children.

TheInvisibleMrsCrane · 06/05/2019 08:51

No

RickOShay · 06/05/2019 08:51

Yes.
I really like Storm.

Rudytherednosedmoose · 06/05/2019 08:52

Kylie Jenner

PassMeTheWine · 06/05/2019 08:52

I like it

KooMoo · 06/05/2019 09:01

Actually I think Storm is lovely. KJ named her baby Stormi so not the same.

boredboredboredboredbored · 06/05/2019 09:04

No just no

PaperHead · 06/05/2019 09:05

I don’t mind it. I certainly prefer it to the the frilly, ineffectual Milly, Poppy, Tilly, Amelia types of name suggested upthread.

There’s one in our village, an independent-minded teenager.

It would be refreshing to meet a baby with a different name to the 5 or so that tend to get used round here for a couple of years at a time before another 5 replace it. No less that 6 Imogens in a class of 30 at the moment. If you love it use it.

MercyBodle · 06/05/2019 09:31

I do like it, but I wouldn't like to be called something so attention-getting myself. The right person could carry if off though!

Sparklysunflower · 06/05/2019 09:57

I agree. But there are literally thousands of beautiful names to choose from outside the top 100.

Storm sounds so unfeminine and harsh. It also doesn't travel well into other languages.

noraclavicle · 06/05/2019 09:59

The name’s actually been around for a while - Margaret Storm Jameson was born in 1891. She wrote as Storm Jameson and was a pretty remarkable woman all round (she was instrumental in helping DH’s family escape Nazi Germany). Wondering if I missed a trick when naming DD now Smile

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 06/05/2019 10:37

No one think of Stormy Daniels?

Bumblebeesmum · 06/05/2019 10:47

Awful

Duster12 · 06/05/2019 10:51

Will she be a regular person or will she actually have super powers? If it's most likely she'll end up an office worker from Wolverhampton etc. i'd think twice.

Its a image to live up to isnt it. So she'll always be like her name or not like her name.

I like that its not a passive pretty name and like to see girls bames with a bit of oompf.

But storm is a very paricular image.

oohbubbles1 · 06/05/2019 14:20

Prefer Stormi, I know a little girl called this...although I wouldn’t for it myself

KindnessCrusader · 06/05/2019 15:17

@Sparklysunflower We're all different 🤷‍♀️ one woman's Storm is another woman's Imogen/Lily/Isabelle

SilverySurfer · 06/05/2019 15:25

No lol - daft name for a child.

ZandathePanda · 06/05/2019 16:09

Willo le wisp?

flumpybear · 06/05/2019 16:12

Not RTFT but I think stripper rather than doctor or solicitor with a name like that I'm afraid

DaisiesAreOurSilver · 06/05/2019 16:14

Definitely a stripper name.
