MummyJ2R · 04/05/2019 10:56

We are expecting our 2nd baby in a few weeks, we are decided on Pearl for a girl after my dad Paul who sadly passed away during this pregnancy. Help in middle names needed! I have a good reason behind each one just wanted opinions please :)

Pearl Avalyn (means breath of life, dad died whilst waiting for a life saving lung transplant)

Pearl Iris (means rainbow, we also lost twins 1 year ago to mc)

Pearl Juliette (after Julien my husband, we all have 'J' middle names )

Pearl Winnie (after my nana who passed when my ds1 was 10weeks old and was very close to me)

Pearl Jett (as life is not always black and white)

I like Pearl Juliette best, with Pearl Iris as 2nd choice.

Crushedvelvetcouch · 04/05/2019 11:10

Pearl Juliette.

Peachbubble · 04/05/2019 13:38

Pearl Juliette or Pearl Iris

Icklepup · 04/05/2019 14:01

Pearl Juliette is lovely!

Juliette

Lovely reasons for all the names. I love names with reasons.

Rosesaredead · 04/05/2019 14:30

All of the names are quite sad ones because of the meanings behind them. It's nice to have a memory name but might it it be nicer for her to have a name all of her own if her first name is already after your father?

LetsSplashMummy · 04/05/2019 14:37

Juliette, it is lovely to have a memory name but two together is a little sad and it's nicer for her to have her own name somewhere (with a nice nod to family tradition).

Like the idea of Pearl Jett (the black white contrast) but would more likely go Pearl Raven.

diddl · 04/05/2019 16:21

Are there any names that you just like?

pilates · 04/05/2019 16:52

Pearl Avalyn

missmouse101 · 04/05/2019 17:08

Juliette

I agree with, @Rosesaredead. Your daughter is a new little person with her own story ahead of her. Give her an uplifting middle name that belongs to her alone.

MummyJ2R · 04/05/2019 20:32

Thanks for all replies its really helpful to see what others think. Any suggestions for uplifting names that go nicely with Pearl also appreciated that arnt on my list too x

I love Pearl Juliette! Not keen on Pearl Wiine or Pearl Jett.

Pearl Vivienne
Pearl Delilah
Pearl Nova
Pearl Tallulah

Jamhandprints · 04/05/2019 21:15

Give her a more joyful middle name at least! Juliette or Jett are fine but if the meaning is super important how about Felicity or Serena?

NuffSaidSam · 04/05/2019 21:21

I agree with PP don't make her whole identity about the tragedy in your life!

She's her own person. She should have her own name. I would give her a first name that you love and has a slightly more upbeat meaning and then use Pearl as a middle name. Or at the very least an upbeat middle name!

What about Hope or Faith?

paperandfireworks · 04/05/2019 23:35

Love your ideas

Theoldwoman · 05/05/2019 05:43

Pearl Juliet

MustardYellowJumper · 05/05/2019 08:51

I agree with the others - it's lovely to honour family members, and these names are nice, but I would give her a name that's just for her too.

That said, I think Pearl Juliette is nice because the name is meaningful but isn't so sad for you (after your dad + your husband). I wouldn't pick a name that references your father's transplant though.

I think Pearl sounds lovely with a longer middle name, too.

Pearl Elizabeth
Pearl Amelia
Pearl Adelaide
Pearl Genevieve
Pearl Olivia
Pearl Annaliese

Juliette

I think middle names should have s reason/meaning

BoomZahramay · 05/05/2019 09:00

Flowers Sounds like you've had a hell of a time of it.

In the nicest possible way, I think you're in danger of turning your DD into a walking memorial.

Also, Pearl is a nice name if you love it- but it has absolutely nothing to do with Paul. Why don't you pick a first name you love so your DD can be her own person and use Paula or Pauline as a middle name? Or have two middle names, e.g. Paula Juliet (English spelling)?

Threeandabit · 05/05/2019 11:00

Pearl Beatrix / Beatrice - Beatrice means "She who brings happiness"
Pearl Joy
Pearl Amanda - "Worthy of love"
Pearl Dulcie - "Sweetness"
Pearl Davina - Can't remember what this means, but it is a positive meaning! Grin
Pearl Amy - "Beloved"
Pearl Celeste - "Heavenly"
Pearl Estelle - "Star"
Pearl Felicity - "Happy / Lucky"
Pearl Lucy - "Light"
Pearl Donatella - "Beautiful Gift"
Pearl Naomi - "Pleasantness"
Pearl Serenity

I’m so sorry for everything you have been through.

Would you consider having Pearl (which is a great name) as a middle name? Or Paulina? I think I agree with previous posters who think it’s important for this little one to have her own identity.
You might also like the name Anya, which means “perseverance” in Sanskrit or Anshula (which means “longed-for sunshine” and is pronounced a little like Ursula).

MikeUniformMike · 05/05/2019 19:52

Juliet not Juliette.
