A brother for Quinn

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 02/05/2019 10:58

We found out yesterday that number 2 is another boy. We already have Quinn (7) and love his name but really struggling to agree on a name for baby 2. So far on the list we have:

Kit (I love, DH not so keen)
Brody (we both like this but last night we made the Homeland connection and are wondering if it makes it unusable)
Gabe
Rudi
Rufus
Torben (DH not keen as he thinks it doesn't go with our surname)
Elias

Help?

We like names that are a little bit different but nothing too out there.
Our surname begins with an 'err' sound and it seems to make name flow quite tricky.

I like Rufus and Elias.
Ezra, Felix, Magnus, Silas?

stephstrops · 02/05/2019 12:09

Miller

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 02/05/2019 12:15

Ezra and Miller are both a no with our surname. I really liked Felix for Q but DH hated it so I've not mooted it this time.

Or Rowan.. ? Jude..?

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 02/05/2019 12:29

Jude has been vetoed by DH. I don't like Rowan (sorry).

This is so hard!

Awwww my eldest is called Quinn too!
His brother is called Caspian.

Don’t think that helps you though Grin

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 02/05/2019 12:35

Tate is my ex-fiance's surname Shock
Caspian is a very cool name (as is Quinn, obv)

How about Torin instead of Torben?

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 02/05/2019 12:41

Ronnie was my dear, dear late uncle, it's a great name but not for us. I liked Lenny and Rory but have gone off both recently.

Q wants to call the baby Leonardo. Our dog is Leroy so it's a hard no for anything that would get shortened to Leo!

I think we'll end up in deadlock again with me guilting DH into submission while in labour.

This was my boys list... currently struggling with girls names and am anticipating the same - deadlock until labour!

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 02/05/2019 12:56

Obviously I'd vote Quinn from that list ;) Atticus is also very cool.

I liked Grayson last time but it's become really popular round here recently.

I like all your choices other than Rufus, which is a dogs name imo!

Quinn and

Rafe

Max
Jasper
Zac
Jago
Angus

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 02/05/2019 13:23

Angus was going to be Q's name right up until the last minute.

I quite like Sullivan / Sully but it's a strong no from DH. He's convinced we need an R name. As a family our first names begin with S, T and Q so he thinks R makes sense. I think he's gone soft in the head.

1 last input.. is Cosmo too out there?
Hope you find something you both love!

DennisSkinnersMolotov · 02/05/2019 13:39

I really like it as a name but Cosmo would be way out there round here. I imagine in some parts of the country it would sound fine (it's a cool name), but round here I think it would be setting him up for a very hard time at school.
