Can't settle on a girl's name..

We don't know whether we're having a boy or a girl. We've finally settled on the name Joshua for a boy but can't seem to narrow down our list of girls names and with only a couple of weeks until D-Day I'm starting to panic!

Which do you prefer (to go with a one syllable surname) or what sort of children do you associate these names with?

Ivy
Charlotte
Jessica
Chloe
Georgia

Joshua is lovely! And I actually really like all of your girl names!
My top three in order would be:
Jessica
Charlotte
Ivy

fitzbilly · 16/04/2019 16:58

Those names are all so mainstream and common that the isn't really one association that comes to mind. They are just all quite safe.

Peachbubble · 16/04/2019 16:58

In order, I like
Charlotte
Chloe
Georgia
Ivy
Jessica

AdaColeman · 16/04/2019 17:06

Jessica is my favourite by a long way, it's a beautiful classic name, sweet for a little girl and cool and classy for a grown up.

Ivy is my least favourite from your list.

Heyarnold91 · 16/04/2019 17:09

I like ivy most from your list.
As another person said, they’re ‘safe’ names so I don’t think you need to worry about associations

FraggleRocking · 16/04/2019 17:11

Jessica is my favourite from your list.

NotMyUsualTopBilling · 16/04/2019 17:13

I like Jessica best, nothing wrong with "common" or "safe". They're generally popular for a reason - because they're nice, classic names :)

Expressedways · 16/04/2019 17:13

Love Charlotte, Ivy is ok. Not a fan of the others.

Pumpkintopf · 16/04/2019 17:20

If you like Joshua, Jessica sounds quite similar- three syllables and all that.

If you have a girl, then subsequently have a boy, would you be ok with Jess and Josh?

If not, Charlotte is pretty I think.

brizzlemint · 16/04/2019 17:20

Ivy is lovely but getting very popular

MondeoFan · 16/04/2019 17:20

Georgia is best. I'm an early years teacher and all the other names are very common in and around where I work

pansydansy · 16/04/2019 17:21

Georgia is m favourite from your list.

LittleMissMummaBear · 16/04/2019 17:48

Ivy is absolute perfection! That's deffo my fav from your list.
Georgia and Charlotte are also both lovely.
Chloe is alright.
Jessica is very dated, I've never been a fan.
good luck whichever way you go! x

Shadow1234 · 16/04/2019 19:43

Georgia is my favourite on your list
Ivy always makes me think of poison Ivy
Charlotte is ok but so popular (although I do like Lottie as a nn)
Chloe - not to my taste
Jessica is ok (but I prefer Jess rather than the full name)

MikeUniformMike · 16/04/2019 20:13

I don't like Ivy or Chloe.
The others are lovely.

Jessica, great name.

Chloe, Jessica and Georgia are a bit 90s. Ivy is very ‘now’. I prefer Charlotte.

pilates · 17/04/2019 07:35

Jessica is the best out of the bunch, strongly dislike Ivy.

MrsBertBibby · 17/04/2019 07:50

Hate Jessica! Ivy and Georgia are the best but it is a very safe bunch.
