opinions on the name rowan for boy

I love the name rowan, I already have an Aaron and Gracie. I did really like the name leo but seems really common now! anyone any similar name recommendations

Rowan Atkinson - very clever, very very funny man. Love the name.

Leo is nice, but there's two just in DH's family!

We had a couple of girls called Rowan at school so I always think of it as a girl's name.

Love it, was my first choice but I had a girl. Prefer it as a boys name. I don't know any in real life which is always a bonus!

Rowan is a lovely name and I prefer it for a boy than for a girl. However, it's become popular for girls so you might get some people coming along to say it's "wet" or similar, but you should try and ignore them!

I don't really like it for a boy or a girl - don't know why. Rowan Williams doesn't help. (I do like Rowena though, for some reason).

Go for it! It's a lovely name for a boy.
I have a 13yo DS so biased, but I think it's a strong name and suits him.
Never ever had anyone at school or otherwise pass comment that it is a girl's name, but if they did I imagine he'd have a funny come-back. It wouldn't bother him in the slightest.

I think of it as a girls name. On a boy I’d probably assume it was Roan or Ronan unless I saw it written down.
