Liliana or Camilla?

Hello,
I originally didn’t want to make a thread because I get confused. But I’m still confused so now need your help!

The backstory is that both me and my husband are of Italian origin and have moved to the UK.

We have a daughter who is 4 called Sofia.

We are expecting another daughter and like the name Giada. But we have realised it is not very compatible for the English tongue.

We are now inbetween Liliana and Camilla.

Which one?

(Also we know in Italian Camilla is pronounced cam-meel-la and in the UK it’s a difference pronunciation but we don’t mind that)

Also please no other name suggestions because it is between these two.

Thanks

Maria

I prefer Camilla

Phuquocdreams · 10/04/2019 20:05

Liliana. Camilla makes me think of Camilla Parker Bowles.

lottiegarbanzo · 10/04/2019 20:08

Both lovely. I really like Camilla and it's quite underused.

Liliana is a bit of a mouthful and some Brits will elongate it with a drawl, Liliaaahna.

lottiegarbanzo · 10/04/2019 20:10

Was going to say that I think Camilla PB has put people off Camilla for a while but she's been out of the limelight for a long time now, settled in and getting on with life, while the younger generation get all the attention. So I think that effect has worn off.

Camilla

I think Liliana is beautiful

WallisFrizz · 10/04/2019 20:13

Camilla, it’s really pretty.

Mommaof2x · 10/04/2019 20:18

I like camilla pronounced your way not as much the English way and I also like Lilliana too.
I would just see what she suits more when she is born.

We had a name for my dd2 but soon as she was born I knew that wasn’t her name.

SallyWD · 10/04/2019 20:37

I too think of Camilla Parker Bowles.

Lilianna is a beautiful name... it might get shortened to Lily?

notangelinajolie · 10/04/2019 21:13

Camilla

I would deffo say camilla. i am italian too, my cousin has a very italian name and she’s struggled with it all her life because people don’t say it right! camilla is better than liliana and it’s heard of in both italy and the uk x

Italianoinengland · 10/04/2019 21:19

I love Liliana, it's beautiful and uncommon. I dislike the way many British accents pronounce Camilla.

lottiegarbanzo · 10/04/2019 22:16

Lily is English, as is Lilian. Liliana may be used here rarely but I'd think it's more common in other countries. I 'hear' it as continental European.

sardinesontoast · 10/04/2019 22:20

Camilla. DH said no but it was in my top 3. Love it.

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 10/04/2019 22:23

Camilla

DramaAlpaca · 10/04/2019 22:35

They are both beautiful names. It's hard to choose, but I think I have a slight preference for Liliana.

Actually I really like Giada, but I see you've decided against it.

LokiCat · 10/04/2019 22:39

They're both beautiful names. Think I like Camilla a little more
