Hi,

So we're expecting a little boy in roughly 3 weeks time.

So far the only names me and DP have agreed on are ...

Max (which is the front runner at the moment)
Charlie
& Henry.

I love all 3 names, but I know they are all insanely popular at the minute. I did hope to go for something a little more unique, so if anyone knows of any similar sounding names that aren't quite as popular I'd love to hear your suggestions!

Max is a great name. Better than the other two, and less popular I think.

Don't worry about popularity. Even if you choose a more unusual name luck would have it there'll be another in his class. I only know one baby Max.

Maxim, Maximilian if you want to be more distinctive but no real need.

Rex
Quinn

Ezekiel (nn Zeke)
Lucian

From your list I would go with Henry.

I think Max & Charlie (Charles) are perfect names as good on a child, teen, younger man & older man, suits all types of boys, not too classic or too modern. I know several of each and I can't think of one who it doesn't suit. Yes popular but not overly so (here Jack and Harry, also fab, are a bit too popular). I think Will/William fits the Max/Charlie thing too.

I really like Max, in fact it's the only name we've both liked so far for our boy due.in July! But I'm also worried about the popularity too . It's a great name though!

I like Charlie and Henry too but max is definitely my favorite of the 3

wee boys I know off the top of my head - Jax, Jesse, Hudson, Ashton , Zac, Caleb, Corey, Lewis , Jacob, Logan

Mac is lovely but it's rather popular, there are 2 Max at our playgroup.

ethansmumma · 08/04/2019 21:06

Ok so I totally get where you are coming from as I had this problem before my little boy was born, I wanted something unique. So I chose ethan which although is not totally out there, barely anyone in our city has that name.

Those names are great and none will go out of fashion, they will stand the test of time unlike some names. I love Henry as a good strong name! My faves are Jasper, Sebastian, Luca, but I like more "out there" names Smile

Littlechocola · 09/04/2019 22:01

Max is my favourite.
If I had a boy tomorrow I would call him Rufus.

NCBabyBoy · 09/04/2019 22:03
