Advice on baby girl name??

I like the name josie for D1 but not a fan of Josephine. Confused I usually like older names but I don’t think such a traditional name will suit her as a tiny baby, girl or teen. Also last name has 3 syllables so both names together may be a bit of a mouthful.

What do people think of using Josie on its own?

Name suggestions are welcome. :) Surname begins with M so I’m not a fan of ‘m’ names.

Yes Josie on its own

I think Josie on its own is ok, but it could also be short for Josette or Josiane.

DramaAlpaca · 07/04/2019 12:18

I think Josie on its own is fine.

Josie is a nice stand alone name

Joselyn, Jocelyn — very old traditional names

I have a josie Smile she's just josie though. Have only come across one little girl called josie too in 6 years.

Josie is a really lovely name.

I love Josie - I wanted to call my DD Josie but DH wasn't a fan! Go with just Josie Smile

Josie is a lovely name in its own right as well as a nn. I also personally really like Josephine and the other nn options that go with it though. Josette or Jocelyn are also lovely longer name versions.

Joselyn
Agree this is s lovely name which can be shortened to Jos which sounds much nicer than Jo which could be the go to short form of Josie.

I know of a Josie who is just Josie. It's fine if that suits you. I would also happily use nn Josie for Johanna/Joanna.
