Beatrix or Maeve?

We’ve narrowed our shortlist down to Beatrix and Maeve. We (and our son) have quite celtic names and our fave celtic girls name is Maeve. But we really love nn Bea and Bebe. Please help!

Beatrix. Maeve is so plain and dowdy. I always think of Mavis Cruet from Willo The Wisp when I hear it.

I prefer Beatrice to Beatrix, but prefer both to Meave.

Maeve. Beatrix looks too similar to Brexit.

Now you mention it, @AverageMan, Beatrix is very like Brexit! And Maeve is a bit like Leave. I can't think of any "Remain" alternatives though

Definitely not Beatrix, it's nearly an anagram of Brexit.

I have a Maebh, it's always been my favourite girls name. I love that she's named after a warrior queen and she is intoxicating and often infuriating

I prefer Beatrice to Beatrix. Not so keen on Maeve.

Beatrix is fussy. Prefer Beatrice. Agree with pp that Trixie is dreadful.

Much prefer Beatrice to Beatrix.

Don’t like Maev. Too many Mavises put me off.
