My fantasy triplets.
What kind of children and adults will they be with those names?

Gideon just reminds me of George Osbourne. During some protest I saw on the news someone made a placard that just said "Oh f**k off Gideon" and for some reason it really made me laugh and so that's all I can think about!

I think Xavier is a really cool name but people (on the internet) are quite bitchy about how you pronounce it. If you don't pronounce it the Spanish way (which in my honest opinion sounds a bit OTT in English something I can't imagine yelling across the playground without making myself cringe) then some of Mumsnet really go crazy about it 😂 I honestly like it pronounced the English/American way and everyone I've met with this name has pronounced it this way, but according to Mumsnet if you pronounce it like this you're committing some kind of awful sin. Weirdly some names are okay to anglicanise (i.e. Genevieve) but others aren't (i.e. Xavier) (says Mumsnet jury).

Unrelated: it also makes me think of X-Men because one of the characters has this name, so when I think of a kid called Xavier I imagine him to have parents who are slightly geeky/hipster X-Men fans.

Ezekiel I think is cool, I do imagine Ezekiel to be a very devout bearded Christian from America who lives on a farm and drives a horse and cart. But in a cool way. I think Zeke is a good nickname too! But again, someone suggested this name on Mumsnet recently and it was fairly ripped apart (by about 50% of people, the other 50% loved it).

So to summarise: Gideon = George Osbourne
Xavier = Son of X-Men fans
Ezekiel = devout bearded Christian.

The poor children will get bullied for having weirdo names

Megs4x3 · 04/04/2019 04:25

I know a one of those. Didn’t get bullied about it and is a lovely man. Love them all.

ALittleBitofVitriol · 04/04/2019 04:30

One of them is my son, great name Grin he's not an adult yet, but he's an awesome tween. Friendly, responsible, hard working. He's a great kid.

ApplestheHare · 04/04/2019 04:47

Kids being raised / trained to be mutant superheroes?Wink

Names wouldn't be out of place in X Men or Umbrella Academy.

Scrabble champions...

Gideon has mousy brown hair parted slightly to the side and an underbite. He is a Mormon and spends his life wearing his special pants and knocking doors trying to share the word of God with the populace.

Xavier is a wannabe Marvel hero. He has long flowing locks, works out a lot and his hobby is viking re-enactments.

Ezekiel is jealous of his better looking and more successful sibling, Xavier. He's a bit geeky, and struggles to fit in. He leads a worship group on a Tuesday night where he plays the guitar.

Tories?

TrendyNorthLondonTeen · 04/04/2019 06:03

Probably homeschooled.

Tiramisu1 · 04/04/2019 06:50

This probably sounds obvious but names don't 'make' people, it's the other way round!

noodlenosefraggle · 04/04/2019 07:03

Xavier is quite common as a name in my family (patron Saint) and its pronounced, zavier so it always makes me laugh when people get sniffy about the pronounciation not realising that in different cultures is pronounced differently. I wanted it for my DS but DH used his veto for it Grin

missmouse101 · 04/04/2019 07:05

They sound like a bunch of smug twats!

Lexilooo · 04/04/2019 07:10

Gideon was the name Helen Archer's abusive husband gave to the baby conceived as a result of marital rape. She called him Jack instead though.

SleepingStandingUp · 04/04/2019 09:55

Kids being raised / trained to be mutant superheroes? haha this one made me laugh out loud.

DS is named one of these three, I love the other two but I should perhaps not mix all three 😂😂

I used to work with a lovely Gideon so I have happy vibes around that one.

Xavier is OK.

Ezekiel is just all kinds of wrong.

TatianaLarina · 04/04/2019 11:40

Za vee ay or Ha vee ay is cool. Zay vee er is embarrassing.

Ezekiel is hard to find a a dim of. Ez or Zeki?

Not keen on Gideon.

elliejjtiny · 04/04/2019 11:45

Love those names. My son is called one of them.

SleepingStandingUp · 04/04/2019 12:55

I'd go Zeke don't Zeki.

And def not Ha vee er, I think given English pronunciation you'd really be setting him up for a life of explaining
