We are thinking of the following potential first names to go with the middle name of Rebecca. Our surname is very short. So:

Sophia Rebecca
Francesca Rebecca

Unless there's another name you'd think might go better!

I love Francesca

DramaAlpaca · 24/03/2019 20:53

Sophie Rebecca flows better, but given a choice between Sophia & Francesca I'd pick Sophia.

DonaldTramp · 24/03/2019 20:55

It's MUCH more important that the first name goes with the surname than the middle name! Consider the first and last names together, and don't worry about what the middle name goes with!

Sophia Rebecca gets my vote

BlueMerchant · 24/03/2019 20:56

Sophia goes better but I still don't think it flows

Whichnames · 24/03/2019 20:57

Thank you.
Our begins with D and is short so I think most think would go with it and preferably longer first names.

Sophia Rebecca flows better but I prefer Francesca or Rebecca as standalone names. Sophia has been pretty popular for a while.

We may have 2 middle names so not too worried about the flow at the moment.

So I suppose it's just between Sophia or Francesca. I have read that Sophia is popular although I only know of one 9 year old Sofia myself.

Francesca

TheVanguardSix · 24/03/2019 21:09

Sophia Rebecca.

Ninkaninus · 24/03/2019 21:16

I think Francesca Sophia is really pretty. Does Rebecca have to be the middle name?

I have three names, so I’d quite happily potentially suggest Francesca Sophia Rebecca as well...

But I actually agree, people obsess too much about perfect given name and middle name combinations, when it’s given name and surname that actually matters!

aliceandkids77 · 24/03/2019 21:20

I much prefer the name Sophia, but I do know a lady called Francesca and she often goes by Cesca (said che-sca) and I think thats adorable!

Whichnames · 24/03/2019 21:46

Thank you.
We are leaning towards Sophia.
I also know of a Cheska too. I just don't know if the name Francesca is a bit fussy.

I like Francesca, but am not a fan of Fran or Frankie as a nn, so would choose sophia for that reason. (Or Rebecca as a first name, I think it is lovely)

Sophronia · 24/03/2019 22:07

Sophia Rebecca

bridgetreilly · 24/03/2019 23:18

Chessie!

katesxo · 24/03/2019 23:52

katie rebecca - that's mine and i love it!

Shadow1234 · 25/03/2019 01:23

Francesca for me

Rachelhaydenberk1 · 25/03/2019 02:25

I like Chelsea Rebecca.

Cheska made me think of Chelsea. I dont love Francesca and Sophia is really, really popular. They're both elegant but not really my faves. Cheska is a cute nick name though. Had never heard of it before now.

MercyBodle · 25/03/2019 07:09

I think Sophia Rebecca flows a little better, and Sophia is a lovely name (though probably too popular for my taste, but that's not necessarily an issue for everyone). I prefer the beautiful Francesca over Sophia though, so even though it's not quite as good with Rebecca in the middle it's good enough and is my first choice.
