Struggling with girls names!

EspressoPatronum · 22/03/2019 14:51

Our second child, first girl. We really struggled with boys names last time and had a girls name picked out, but ended up with a boys name too similar to want to use it this time!

We have a list but each have different favorites! Any thoughts or other suggestions?

Tess
Sadie
Cora
Lyra
Saskia
Sasha
Cassia
Aster
Arden
Alva
Juni
Cara
Aine
Oona
Eilidh

Also like Sadie, Cora, and I love Juno instead of Juni if that's an option?

I like the top of your list a lot more than the bottom!

Tess, Sadie, Cora and Saskia are my favourites.

Peonypeople · 22/03/2019 19:24

I love Tess, Saskia and Cassia, like Sasha and Cara and dislike Sadie, Cora, Lyra, Arden and the bottom three.

EspressoPatronum · 22/03/2019 19:31

Haha so far dh's favourite is getting more love than mine... Damn!

I love Honor, but sadly doesn't go with my husband's stupid surname 😒
I think there are a few others I might suggest to him though...

I like Tess or Tessa ( reminds me of Tessa Jowel who passed away and was minister of olympics to name one thing she did. I met her several times through my job and she was always lovely,

Random question -
If you put a full name ( like Theresa ) on birth certificate but would like child to be called the shorter form (like Tess) what's the protocol for announcing name of child? Do you use :
Full name
Full name but put short name in inverted commas
Put short name

Just musing about this for another name...
