Have decided to go with Josephine as our little girls name and thinking on what nicknames we'd probably use personally for her- though appreciate nn will develop/she'd choose her own over time. Really like the nn Josie but now sure how it is more commonly pronounced. Would people tend to put more of an s or z emphasis on it I.e. say is Jo-sea or Jo-zee? Also been think we'd just use Jo.

I know a Josephine with nn (her choice as an adult) to be 'Phine' (Feen) x

I'd pronounce it Jo-see

I say Jo-sea. How about the nns Posy and Sephy? x

My 6 year old is josie which almost every one pronouces jo-sea. We get the occasional person pronouce it with a 'z' but this is rare. There is also another child in her year at school with the same name but spelt 'jozee', as her mum wanted the 'z' pronounciation but apparently everyone still pronouces it jo-sea so it looks like in our area the z pronouncation is rare (south east england)
