Hi everyone :)

We’re due another little girl in June and really struggling with names! What do people think of Orla Reese?

Names we have half liked include:

Thalia
Cleo
Matilda
Elsie
Isla (unfortunately too popular in our area)

Very conscious a lotttt of people we know are having girls this year too and we don’t want anything too popular!

Thanksss x

I love the name Orla! Never heard that one before but think its lovely! Also love Thalia! I wanted youngest to be called Connie but DP didn't like it lol. X

EmLou1 · 19/03/2019 20:02

Aww Connie is a lovely name!! It’s a family name for one of my good friends or id def have considered it! X

loveeee Orla and Cleo out of your list. One of my favourite names is Juno and I'd 100% use it if we were ever lucky enough to have a June baby. Think Hallie and Juno sound lovely together too 😊 x

barkinatthemoon · 19/03/2019 20:16

Sorry also really like Matilda too!

BlueMerchant · 19/03/2019 20:18

Matches nicely with Hallie Rose.

Enidblyton1 · 19/03/2019 20:24

Orla and Cleo are my favourites from your list. Also agree with pp that Juno would go really well.

Elsie may not be popular where you live, but it’s been done to death around here.

Thalia is unusual, but if you say both names together (as you invariably do when talking about your children) I think Hallie and Thalia is a bit of a mouthful. Same with Hallie and Matilda.

bridgetreilly · 19/03/2019 21:13

Orla Reese sounds quite hard to say, for some reason, and Reese seems like it doesn't really fit with the rest of your pretty name choices.

Of your choices, in order, I like
Matilda
Elsie
Thalia
Cleo
Orla
Isla

EmLou1 · 19/03/2019 21:15

Thank you for your comments!! I can’t help but think of the film ‘Juno’ when I hear that name, I think I’m one of the only people that really didn’t enjoy it 🙈🙈

I really like both Orla and Reese, but not together.

Cassie
Lola
Lottie
Lexi
Darcy
Ophelia
Lyla

SweetbutaPsycho · 20/03/2019 18:27

Really like Orla but not too keen on Reese. Orla Elsie or Orla Cleo sound far nicer.

Tofslan · 20/03/2019 18:33

What about Jessa? I know one little one but don’t think it’s popular at all and to me has the same kind of feel as Hallie.

Also think Orla is a lovely name though!

EmLou1 · 20/03/2019 19:14

Thank yous! Reese isn’t a set name, just the only name OH liked for a while!

Never heard of Jessa but one of our dogs is Jessie so that could get confusing for them aha

Orla is lovely! I think it's on the up in terms of popularity, a family member of my partner has just used it for their little girl Smile

GreenLabels · 20/03/2019 22:03

Love Orla. Thalia is also lovely but I wouldn’t use it when you’ve got a Hallie.

Like a previous poster, I really don’t like Reece. A) it’s a boy’s name, and B) it’s very American sounding, especially on a girl.

I do think a one syllable middle name would work well with Orla though. What about...
Orla Faith
Orla Maeve
Orla May
Orla Jane
Orla Joan
Orla Niamh
Orla Hope
Orla Grace
Orla Brooke
Orla Faye
Orla Nell
Orla Wren
Orla Kate
Orla Gwen

Bumblebeesmum · 20/03/2019 22:04

Orla goes nicely with Hallie
I do love the name Matilda but I think Orla is a better fit (if that’s a thing even)

Audreyhelp · 20/03/2019 22:07
