What are your thoughts on the name? Which spelling do you prefer? Do you know any?

Thinking Joss or Joey make nice nicknames

Jocelyn is how I'd spell it. I like Joss!

Arowana · 11/03/2019 21:43

Forgot to say I only know one - an adult.

paperandfireworks · 11/03/2019 21:56

Easterbunnyiscomingsoon · 11/03/2019 21:56

icarriedaturnip · 11/03/2019 21:58

I know a Joslyn and a Jocelyn, I prefer Jocelyn

Jessbow · 11/03/2019 21:59

Jocelyn

Saffrona · 11/03/2019 22:06

I don’t know why but it makes me think of Janice.

Sorry, not my cup of tea.

flowersinthebedroom · 11/03/2019 22:11

I think Jocelyn is a lovely name, the one I know spells her abbreviated name as Jos.

ApplestheHare · 11/03/2019 22:14

I think Jocelyn is the spelling I'd expect. Joey would be a lovely nn!

Dermymc · 11/03/2019 22:16

Jocelyn is the "correct" spelling. Gorgeous name.

jinglebitch · 11/03/2019 22:18

I know one who was Jossie until she was about 6/7, and it's usually Joss now. She's Jocelyn.great name-adaptable for the character of the girl: the one I know is a scrappy scruffy loud character (in a good way!) , definitely more of a Joss, but I can see Jocelyn suiting a more quiet, feminine girl too.

Sophronia · 11/03/2019 22:48

I prefer Joscelin / Jocelin nn Joss for a boy.

Joeybee · 11/03/2019 23:48

Jocelyn...why would you spell it any other way? If it's not spelt like that then she'll continually have to correct peoples spelling of her name all the time...don't do that to someone.

BackforGood · 12/03/2019 00:16

Jocelyn

I really don't understand why people mess about with the spelling of names - it is the poor child that will have 80+ years of correcting everyone.

I don't like it myself, but no particular reason, just personal taste.

AlliKaneErikson · 12/03/2019 00:40

There’s a 12 yr old Jocelyn in my son’s class at school- it makes a change from the 4 Ellas, 2 Rubys and various other duplicates!

Rumboogie · 12/03/2019 00:47

Prefer it as a male name

Windbeneathmybingowings · 12/03/2019 00:57

I know 3, they are all in the same fashionable name category as Tracey’s, Karen’s, Janet’s, Elaine’s who are in their 50s now. None of them have been very nice Sad I don’t like it because of that mainly.

MimiSunshine · 12/03/2019 08:16

I like it, DP doesn’t do not on our list.

I know one who’s around 2yrs old. Would only spell it Jocelyn though the rest look wrong to me

BoudicasBoudoir · 12/03/2019 08:19

I know a Josceline. He’s a bloke.

mrsk28 · 12/03/2019 08:22

Jocelyn is lovely

RayaJambalaya · 12/03/2019 11:29

Jocelyn is the only one that looks right. probably because it's the only one that is right

helzapoppin2 · 12/03/2019 16:13

It originates from Brittany, and the first two spellings are French, I think. Joss is lovely for a boy or girl.

Rachelhaydenberk1 · 18/03/2019 23:46

I love Joss. Can you spell it Joslyn?

I like Jocelyn fine. Never heard of Josceline but I'm literally reading it as Joss-celine. Is that the pronunciation? It sounds like cellulite cream or something. Sorry, not to be rude! Stay with Jocelyn, nick name Joss!

TatianaLarina · 19/03/2019 14:44

Can you spell it Joslyn?

In S.Carolina yeah.

VelvetPineapple · 19/03/2019 14:49

It’s spelled Jocelyn (female) or more rarely Josslyn (male). The other two spellings are just wrong and made up by parents who want to be Yooneek.
