I think I like the name Evelyn with Evie for short. DM likes it but is really keen on Emelia. Which doesn't do much for me but could grow on me ... also not sure what we would want to shorten it to. Thoughts please ...

Emilia and Emelia would be pronounced the same, no? Em-ee-lee-a.

I think Emilia is the correct spelling and that Emelia is just an error based on changing the first letter of Amelia (which again has exactly the same sound but with a slightly different beginning: Am-ee-lee-a)

Evelyn. Beautiful.

Emilia just looks like an incorrectly spelt Amelia, and that's a really popular name. Emily would be more logical.

Definitely Evelyn and pronounced Ever-lyn or Ev-lyn. Not a fan of Eve-lyn

Emelia

Would prefer Eva or Eve. Or Amelia or Emily.

I much prefer Evelyn, gorgeous name and Evie is adorable.
I don't care for Emelia, don't like it all. You could go with the nn Emmy/Emmie with is cute I think.

Evelyn makes me think of either Evelyn Waugh or the character in coronation street played by the by advert woman. Diverse I know! Either way I’m not too keen because of this and because ( as a pp said) the pronunciation of it can vary.

Emelia

Neither. You do realise the Eve names are mentally popular? It’s like being called Sarah in the 70s. At one point one third of the girls in dds class named a variant of eve. Emilia sounds like a messed about version of Emily which is also very common. Would avoid personally but then have a dull
over used name myself

I have an Emilia and I pronounce it Emil-ya which I think is quite different to the long ee in Amelia or emelia (which my phone tries to change back to Emilia so she might have a lot of correcting to do if you spell it that way). It was something like 66th in the baby names last year so way below Amelia (and Evelyn/evey/Evie I'm guessing)
