I like Patrick and Luca . Charlie is ok. Not keen on the others.

IggyAce · 09/03/2019 16:41

Parker - I like this, however I like surnames as names.
Frankie - not keen on this
Charlie - overused
Luca - prefer Lucian
Patrick - like this, not very common.

DramaAlpaca · 09/03/2019 16:41

I like Patrick, not the rest.

cmjwx · 09/03/2019 16:50

Thanks all.

Who knew choosing a name could be so difficult..

Frankie ..I have a Frankie

libellule1 · 09/03/2019 16:56

I like Frankie best, then Luca and Patrick

Sophronia · 09/03/2019 17:01

Patrick

cmjwx · 09/03/2019 17:08

Thoughts on Alfie or too overused?

OP posts:
BlueMerchant · 09/03/2019 17:11

Alfie and Charlie are both lovely but overused, at least where I live.
I don't like any of your other names. I think out of the I prefer Patrick.

OhTheRoses · 09/03/2019 17:14

Charles
Lucas
Francis
Patrick
Alfred

All nice and can be shortened.

Parker was Lady Penelope's driver; don't know what his first name was.

Susannach · 09/03/2019 17:15

I’m bored of Alfie. I love Luca. How about:

Laurie
Sonny
Woody
Remy
Archer
Huxley
Griffin

cmjwx · 09/03/2019 17:17

@Susannach Woody is too similar to DP last name Grin

Charlie is my favourite probably, but I would put Charles on the birth certificate.

I quite like Patrick and Luca.

Alfie is cute but really overused. And I believe in 'full names on the birth certificate' but Alfred just sounds so old fashioned and stodgy. Like a Victorian industrialist (or 9th century king of course).

Dislike Frankie (and Francis and Franklin).

Parker is horrendous. Unattractive even as a surname. 'Nosey Parker' etc.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 09/03/2019 17:27

I love Patrick.
Luca is nice
. Frankie is okay I.don't like it, personally but I get the appeal.
Parker. Not fussed.
Charlie. I hear another one I'll scream

Alfie. See Frankie. However in answer to your question it is very over used.

Alfie Wood does have a nice ring to it though. I'll assume that's your last name. Hence your post at 17.17.

cmjwx · 09/03/2019 17:29

Patrick and Luca were my favourite choices. I was adamant on Charlie but now realise that it is very overused, I have 2 friends who have DCs with Charlie as their first/middle names.

Frankie was DPs choice, hated it at first but starting to come round to it!

Patrick

RubyRed85 · 09/03/2019 20:53

I love Charlie, Frankie & Alfie all equally! Going against most of MN but I just love names that end in ie - and ignore all of that 'can't imagine an older Frankie... give an adults name etc...' by the time this generation are adults they WILL be adults names as there are so many of them! However I do also love Archer nn Archie as someone else suggested.

alwaysncxx · 09/03/2019 20:56

@RubyRed85 ddog is called Archie Grin

We would have that if we could as both like it!

SweetButaPsycho · 09/03/2019 22:33

I like Lucas best.

pearldeodorant · 09/03/2019 22:34

I love Luca :)

Shadow1234 · 09/03/2019 22:46

Luca and frankie

littlebillie · 09/03/2019 23:22

Parker okay bit American
Frankie - okay perhaps Franklin
Charlie Charles
Luca - Italian name will be called Luke
Patrick - are you happy with the nicknames

Saffrona · 10/03/2019 02:10

Everything that OhTheRoses said.
But I don’t like Patrick and Parker and not a fan of Francis

Joeybee · 10/03/2019 02:33

Parker - not for me, but I think it's an okay name - quite cool sounding. There's not really any nicknames for it though.
Frankie - would go with Francis and Frankie as a nickname...just not a fan of nicknames as names.
Charlie - as above really, plus Charlie is so popular that it's put me off.
Luca - lovely name, think it works on a baby and an adult. It sounds gentle and cute but fun and active.
Patrick - lovely name, can't understand why it's not more popular. It's good because it's versatile, you can't really judge a Patrick as a certain type of person, it's not popular but not strange, and people would know how to say and spell it.

What about Henry?
