Love it when pronounced Jool-E-a, but not when pronounced Jool-ya. Someone I know pronounces Amelia as “Ameelya” as opposed to Ameel-E-a and it sounds awful.

SleightOfMind · 03/03/2019 23:54

My favourite girl’s name but sounds daft with our surname Sad

Pinkjellyfish · 04/03/2019 00:14

It’s beautifull! Had it on my list for a while but don’t see it suggested much. Saying that it apparently ranked 93 in 2016 with 578 babies! Regardless it’s pretty, classic and underused.

pallisers · 04/03/2019 00:16

Love it.

If I had a fourth she would have been Juliet (if a she)

But I love Julia too. wonderful classic name

BridgeFarmKefir · 04/03/2019 08:44

Another very biased vote here! It's not too wacky or unusual but very underused - there was only one other Julia in my school in the 90s and I don't know any now.

Bloomini · 04/03/2019 08:58

Love this name! No need for any variation of it either.

mondaysaturday · 04/03/2019 09:29

Beautiful and classic.

RiverTam · 04/03/2019 09:30

lovely name

is this going to be a 100% thumbs up? Surely a first on the baby names board!

Isitmybathtimeyet · 04/03/2019 10:01

Very exciting!

foxsbiscuit · 04/03/2019 11:25

lovely

Bumblebeesmum · 05/03/2019 00:50

Love the name Julia - timeless, simple & beautiful
The comment about the a at the end is amazing I’d never noticed that !

Hersheys · 05/03/2019 20:09

Really? Just no.

foxtiger · 14/03/2019 22:06

One of my favourites. Interesting how it feels pretty timeless whereas Julie definitely doesn't!

FishCanFly · 14/03/2019 22:30

My name. So a big yes!

Fifthtimelucky · 14/03/2019 22:32

I love Julia too, and agree it's much better than Julie.

Bouchie · 14/03/2019 22:33

Yes. to both Julia and Juliet. Beautiful sounding names, no bad connotations, timeless and ageless.

lizabel12 · 14/03/2019 22:45

Love it !

icarriedaturnip · 14/03/2019 22:47

My absolute favourite girls name, it’s so beautiful! But I have four boys so I’ll never get to us it

LackOfAdhesiveDucks · 15/03/2019 14:51

Another Julia here who loves her name.

Easy to say, easy to spell, people have heard of it but it’s not overly popular. Occasionally people mishear as Julie but it’s easily corrected. My parents and oldest friends occasionally call me Jules (which I like) but they are the only ones, no one else has ever shortened it.

PinkPupZ · 17/03/2019 00:26

I'm not keen. Seems too middle aged.

RaisedByPuffins · 18/03/2019 14:06

Classic, elegant and beautiful.

Fozzleyplum · 18/03/2019 16:38

It's a yes from me!
