Girl Name List

KateTTC123 · 28/02/2019 11:38

We found naming ds very easy but have really struggled this time with narrowing down a girl's name! Here is our list; those with a * are dh's favourites.

Scarlett
Lucy
Hannah *
Nieve *
Imogen *
Layla
Freya
Fey
Una
Catherine
Iona
Rebecca
Emily

Any thoughts?

Also, if we don't use Lucy or Hannah as first names we may use them as middle names for sentimental reasons.

I like Iona and Scarlett.

I'd spell Nieve and Fey as Niamh or Neve and Faye. Keep life simple

ParisWilton · 28/02/2019 11:46

(unless they're cultural spellings)

flowersaremyfave · 28/02/2019 11:49

Love Scarlett (my daughters name) and also love layla. Not fond on the others at all.

Jaz32 · 28/02/2019 12:00

Imogen is my favourite from the list!
I also like Emily, Freya & Scarlett.

Imogen Lucy sounds good 👍

piggie88 · 28/02/2019 12:03

Emily is my favourite. I also like Imogen and Freya.

TatianaLarina · 28/02/2019 12:11

Imogen and Iona by far.

Ribbonsonabox · 28/02/2019 12:15

Imogen is my favourite.
Then I like Catherine, Lucy, rebecca, Hannah and Iona.

I like the spelling Niamh much better than Nieve...

Lew1993 · 28/02/2019 12:19

I like Freya, if my DS would have been a girl that was going to be our middle name choice Smile

Susannach · 28/02/2019 12:46

I absolutely love Iona! Also like Imogen, Nieve/Neve, Freya and Una (OO-na or YOO-na?)

KateTTC123 · 28/02/2019 12:57

@susannach Oona. It was my gran's name.

It's interesting hearing people's thoughts. Currently favourite for dh and I is Emily Johanna (or Hannah)

Scarlett, Imogen or Emily. I think all of those names are lovely 😊

E20mom · 28/02/2019 13:05

Hannah by a mile!

Icklepup · 28/02/2019 13:10

Hannah!

bluebell2017 · 28/02/2019 13:24

Lucy, Hannah, Catherine, Rebecca or Emily. I guess I like more traditional names.
Agree with whoever said Fey would be better spelt Faye. Where I grew up, a "fey" person was maybe a bit immature or fake.
Iona makes me think "I own a".

PlatypusLeague · 28/02/2019 13:52

My top 6 would be

Rebecca
Emily
Lucy
Hannah
Iona
Scarlett

mothertobe789 · 28/02/2019 13:56

Hannah!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 28/02/2019 19:39

I love
Lucy
Fey (prefer Faye, though)
Hannah
Layla
Freya.
Emily

Like
Catherine
Rebecca

Don't like
Iona
Imogen
Una

MollyYouInDangerGirl · 28/02/2019 20:39

Scarlett - love love love
Lucy - like
Hannah * - it's a nice name but just seems so old? I'm in my mid 20s and no millions of Hannah's but don't know any younger ones
Nieve * - no don't like but prefer the spelling neve
Imogen * - like
Layla - like
Freya - love
Fey - don't like but prefer the spelling of faye
Una - no
Catherine - same as hannah above - I know loads my age and older seems a bit old for a child these days?
Iona - no
Rebecca - see hannah and catherine
Emily - again a bit plain and over done

SweetButaPsycho · 28/02/2019 22:52

Scarlett, Freya and Lucy are my favourites

Tavannach · 01/03/2019 02:07

Lucy
Hannah
Imogen
Fey (prefer Faye)
Catherine
Iona
Emily

also maybe
Skye
Astrid

Sophronia · 01/03/2019 05:51

Catherine, Hannah or Rebecca

MercyBodle · 01/03/2019 07:44

Emily Johanna is lovely! I like most of the names on your list: Scarlett, Lucy, Hannah, Neve or Niamh (only one of these spellings), Freya, Catherine, Iona, Rebecca, Emily. I think Fey would work well as a middle name, but not keen on it for a first.
