Rank from favorite to least favorite please. And why you like or don't like the name.

  • Ellason
  • Everlynn
  • Brianna
  • Coralynn
  • Joelle

Really don't like any of them, I'm afraid. Are you American? Maybe they work better in that context, but they wouldn't really work here in the UK.

My order of preference is as follows (from least bad to worst):

  • Everlynn (the best name but looks like a misspelling)
  • Coralynn (sounds twee, a bit like a doll)
  • Brianna (sounds common/trashy)
  • Joelle (sorry, it's just ugly)
  • Ellason (weird & doesn't sound like a name at all)
CJsGoldfish · 23/02/2019 01:32

Ellason Actually laughed out loud at this one which is funny because it would probably have been the best one if you hadn't hashed the spelling. Aside from looking too try hard, it doesn't flow. It will probably always be a 'son of Ella' kinda thing.
-Everlynn I probably would have used this spelling as a teenager. As a grown up, the common spelling looks the best
-Brianna Is ok. Not my cup of tea but not a bad name
-Coralynn Meh
-Joelle Quite redneck (are you in the US OP) but not the worst name I've seen

PuzzlingPuzzle · 23/02/2019 01:34

Um Brianna is probably the best of the bunch as it’s a recognisable name. Sorry but the rest all look made-up or like you can’t spell. How about Evelyn if you like Everlynn?

pearldeodorant · 23/02/2019 01:40

Sorry I'm not keen on any so can't really rank them

CheerioHunter · 23/02/2019 01:42

Rank? Yes, yes they are. Confused

DramaAlpaca · 23/02/2019 01:44

Brianna is OK.

The rest are, well, not. Sorry. They sound like country music singers.

AuntMarch · 23/02/2019 01:46

I'd raise an eyebrow at all of them Hmm

NuffSaidSam · 23/02/2019 01:55

I think all of them would be better if you used the proper spelling/actual name. I'm not really a fan of creative spelling.

Ellason - Ella is nice. Or Alison.

Everlynn - I don't like it. I don't like the actual name Evelyn either really.

Brianna - it's too American for me. But it is an actual name and spelt correctly so that's something.

Coralynn - I really like the name Cora or Corrine. Or there is Coraline. Or Caroline. Cora-Lynn does sound like a country singer, but I quite like it. Coralynn looks like you've heard Caroline or Coraline and become confused.

Joelle - also a bit country singer, but I like it. Lot of nn potential Joey/Jo/Jojo/Elle/Ella.

I like Coralynn and Joelle best. Then Ellason (at least she could drop the son when she's older). Really don't like the others.

They all suggest that you are illiterate, I'm afraid.

Although I suspect that this is a wind-up since nobody could seriously like this list of names?

All awful - sorry

SilverySurfer · 23/02/2019 02:38

Sorry I can't, they all all ghastly, not to mention the awful spellings which will make people assume that the parents are illiterate. I know some people are desperate to give their child a 'yoonique' name but please don't do it.

Decormad38 · 23/02/2019 02:53

Sorry op. All number 5 for me too. Perhaps its a cultural thing. We may be from uk and you from?

Pemba · 23/02/2019 03:10

Evelyn (spelled properly) is quite nice.
If you split Coralynn into Cora Lynn (Lynn as middle name) that would be OK. Otherwise it sounds like a cheesy old country music singer, as a pp said.
Joelle is just about OK.
Brianna is awful and chavvy and
Ellason (? weird spelling) is chavvy and misspelled too.

SpareASquare · 23/02/2019 03:26

I’d immediately think ‘teen parent’
The spelling really ruins a couple of not bad names and turns them into something completely different but not at all nice.
I could rank Alison
Evelyn
Brianna
Cora
Joelle

Threenanger · 23/02/2019 05:44

Sorry don’t like any either, agree sound too American or made up... with made up spellings

Roroba · 23/02/2019 05:46

All of them are modern and meaningless . Sorry I hope I don’t offend

MercyBodle · 23/02/2019 07:50

From best to worst:

Brianna (only one I like. )
Joelle (2nd spot because I like Jo)
Evelyn (only this spelling)
Ellison (only this spelling)
Coralynn (Coraline or just Cora would be much better)

MrPickles73 · 23/02/2019 07:52

Sorry not keen on any of them...

Barbarafromblackpool · 23/02/2019 07:54

Cora?

FluffyMunchkin · 23/02/2019 07:57

My name is on your list.

It has been complimented throughout my travels worldwide, including the UK (I am not from here).

I would also like to let the rude posters on this thread know that I am not chavvy or trashy, nor a gypsy (which would be fine if I was!), nor the child of a teen parent (which would be fine if I was!) and I am not American (which would be fine if I was!). To the posters who simply said they didn't like it or it wasn't for them, kudos for being reasonable.

BertrandRussell · 23/02/2019 07:57

Sweet Valley High.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 23/02/2019 08:06

Ellason. I despise the name Ella and equally abide Son on the end of a girls name. It looks really masculine.

Evelynn. I don't like but its a nice enough name. Why do you need the extra n though.

Coralynn. I prefer Coralie.

Breanna. Nice name. Glad to be able to say something positive.

Joelle. To masculine for me. I like frilly girly names. I'll hold my hands up.

Marcipex · 23/02/2019 08:15

Gypsy names?
I've seen a few programmes featuring travellers and their style of wedding dresses, and the girls were called Mary, Bridget etc.

Brianna sounds like you wanted a boy to call Brian.
All the rest sound like us style mashups, as others have said.
