Hey,
Expecting a boy in may and struggling with names. We like Celtic names (DH is welsh and I’ve got Irish/Scottish links) Both DH and I like Ewan but worried it’s too similar to DD Merryn. Does it even matter??

I don't think Ewan and Merryn are to similar. In fact I think they're lovely. If you're looking for other suggestions, how about:
Osian
Lorcan
Oh but wait, is it the n at the end that you think it's too samey?

Ewan is nice and not too similar to Merryn.

Ewan and merryn aren't similar unless you're pronouncing them completely wrong

I loved Alwyn and Emlyn.

Sorry to hijack slightly, but how do you pronounce Merryn?
I'd always thought it was MERryn with the Mer sound like Merry but heard someone earlier in the week saying it more like Helen Mirren and I'm not sure anymore!!

Yes we pronounce Merryn to rhyme with Erin. I think reason we’re worrying is cos other favourite name was very different: Douglas but got taken by a friend recently grrr!
Thanks for the input: has been reassuring 🙂
