Which would you pick?

(They all "go" and flow with chosen middle name options and surname)

Theo but that's because I've been reading the Theodore Boone books by John Grisham Grin

Icklepup · 08/02/2019 18:17

Joel

MintyCedric · 08/02/2019 18:20

Cameron

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 08/02/2019 18:23

Not Theo.

Emelene · 08/02/2019 18:24

Joel is gorgeous, classic and underused. It was on our list for a boy. Smile

Barbarafromblackpool · 08/02/2019 18:24

Joel.

I know about six Theos. Lovely as it is.

Cameron second.

Bellagio40 · 08/02/2019 18:27

Cameron

GrumpySausage · 08/02/2019 18:29

Great taste OP.

My DS is a Cameron (Cam every day) and DD would have been a Joel if she was a DS.

So Cameron and Joel tie for me.

I like Theo but it's very common near me so the other two win.

MikeUniformMike · 08/02/2019 18:31

Cameron was very popular in Scotland about 15 yrs ago. Will get shortened to Cam. David Cameron.
Theo. This is so overused that I would say don't. I don't like Theodore at all but Theo is ok. It will get said as Feo.
Joel. Great but some will say Joe-Elle and some will think it's Joe.

Of the three, Joel.

flumpybear · 08/02/2019 18:35

I have a Cameron and he loves his name and it's very rare we meet another one (midlands), Camy for short (age 6)

Joel or josh perhaps next

Theo is common where I live

helpamamaout · 08/02/2019 18:59

I never even thought of abbreviations for Cameron, I'm deliberately trying to avoid names with abbreviations. Cameron isn't very common where we live haven't heard it abbreviated here so far, now I'm worried though!

Theo
Cameron
Joel

In order. My nephew is a Cameron and he's often called Cam.

KateGrey · 08/02/2019 19:23

Joel although I like Elliot which doesn’t seem too common.

CloserIAm2Fine · 08/02/2019 19:25

Cameron is lovely

I’m really not a fan of Theo, especially if you love somewhere it’ll be pronounced fee-oh

17caterpillars1mouse · 08/02/2019 19:30

Joel - it is masculine but I imagine a Joel to be a Kind hearted sensitive soul which I like

I see Theo as a 'naughty boy name. Not a fan

Cameron is nice but not as nice as Joel. It has more of a cheeky chappy kind of feel

OneKeyAtATime · 08/02/2019 19:32

Theo, then Joel, then Cameron, I instantly think of David Cameron.

Sophronia · 08/02/2019 19:50

Joel, definitely.

Theo is overused.

Cameron makes me think of David Cameron.

Bumblebeesmum · 08/02/2019 21:14

I think I’d go Joel but Theo is also lovely

MrsMartinRohde · 08/02/2019 21:18

Joel. I love it, gave it to DS2. He's 7 now, and goes to a massive primary but I know of only one other Joel there. And only one person (one of his pre-school teachers) pronounced it Joe-elle (which bugged DS even at age 3)

Second choice Theo. Don't love Cameron because I can't get past the ex-PM.

DonkeyAtemyHomework · 08/02/2019 21:22

I shared a house with a Theo. He was an horrendous idiot.
Joel I have negative associations with.
Cameron? If my boss in 20 years is Cameron, I would think his mother had notions. Delusions of grandeur.

Can you rethink?

flumpybear · 09/02/2019 05:44

@DonkeyAtemyHomework - delusions of grandeur... what in earth do you mean 🙄 it's hardly Fortesque or Ptolemy

@helpamamaout - we shorten Cameron but nursery, school and his friends all call him by his full name

Millenniem · 09/02/2019 05:47

Joel

FlagFish · 09/02/2019 05:55

Cameron

DonkeyAtemyHomework · 09/02/2019 06:13

Like Cameron Diaz?
Or David Cameron?

Or do you think it sounds like a fine name?

Cameron will get bullied. Joel probably not. If you're stuck on those names. Theodopulus? Well let's not discuss him....

FlagFish · 09/02/2019 06:18

Cameron won’t get bullied - it’s a perfectly normal boy’s name. I know three.
