Love it. I have one who was Georgie when little but is choosing Georgia as she is growing up.

Heard this name on a baby a couple of weeks ago and thought how beautiful.
Such a lovely name and it stands out, being underused but not unusual.

I find Georgina/Georgiana/Georgette all a bit frilly but I like Georgia and think Georgie is a lovely nickname!

'Hey there, Georgy girl...'

daisypond · 09/02/2019 16:21

I'm not keen, I'm afraid. It's dated and I now see it as quite downmarket. I do know a few Georgias - all in their mid-20s - and very nice girls. It also makes me think of the southern US state. I think Georgina is nicer.

CockleburIck · 11/02/2019 03:42

I love it, and love Georgie as a NN.

Bouncingbelle · 11/02/2019 05:04

I love it and this is what i would have called DS had he been a girl. I think itd great as it can be a childs name or an adults name and i've never met anyone called it.

Shadow1234 · 11/02/2019 12:19

Lovely name.

EssentialHummus · 11/02/2019 12:24

I really dislike how it's pronounced in some (most?) parts of the UK - Jaw-ja - so wouldn't use it here.

thefirst48 · 11/02/2019 12:27

I have a young Georgia and don't know any others.

MumOfTwoMasterOfNone · 11/02/2019 14:10

It was the name we chose for DD early in pregnancy but didn't end up using purely because I realised how it's pronounced where we live. I was in a supermarket while heavily pregnant and someone shouted it to their teenage friend and it sounded awful!
I think it is a lovely name though, not keen on the recent spelling variations though.

OlennasWimple · 11/02/2019 20:23

I don't understand the loyalty reference?

CrazyOldBagLady · 11/02/2019 20:24

Love it, was on our list too but we had a boy.

noodlefairy · 11/03/2019 23:46

I don't think people appreciate this name enough. It's lovely.

aliceandkids77 · 12/03/2019 13:31

I love the name, especially if the nn is Gia which I think is adorable.

@RunOstrich @CocoLoco87 haha! I do love a Love Island association!!

daisypond · 12/03/2019 13:34

Sorry, I think it's very downmarket now and dated. It also only makes me think of the Deep South in America. Georgina is better.

LegoPiecesEverywhere · 13/03/2019 12:07

I like it

Stinkytoe · 13/03/2019 12:08

What’s your accent like? Georgia is a beautiful name until it gets pronounced jaw-ja
