I really like it

pineapplebryanbrown · 08/02/2019 20:05

I love it and I think the nn Max on a girl is very cool (in a good way).

Ribbonsonabox · 08/02/2019 20:11

Oh no I really dont like this name!

ChoccyBiccyTastic · 08/02/2019 21:09

Very middle-aged. It's a no from me.

BusterGonad · 09/02/2019 02:19

It's a bit 80s for my liking. I didn't think of Maxine Carr straight away so that's a good thing.

Decormad38 · 09/02/2019 02:33

Not in a million years. Old next door neighbour had an aggressive daughter who used to shout at me if I parked too close to her. She was called Maxine. I still shudder at that name. Plus they were common as muck! Sorry but urghh!

meepmoop · 09/02/2019 07:10

It's my middle name to and I'm not particularly keen on it

WallisFrizz · 09/02/2019 07:13

No, for the Maxine Carr association.

noneofyourbusinessx · 09/02/2019 07:18

No it's awful

Thishatisnotmine · 09/02/2019 07:34

I am going to suggest Roxanne. Has the feel of Maxine but better.

I hadn’t thought of soham at all.

I think people don’t like it because it’s middke aged.
Rough rule of thumb, if it reminds you of your grandma people tend to think it’s sweet. If it makes you think ‘middle aged women’ people think yuk.
However things have trends. Now the Victorian old lady /man nabes have been done to death we are seeing a rise in popularity of 1950’s names such as Valerie, Sylvia, Susan, Jean, Linda (I know of babies with all these names).

So stands to reason that in about 20 years Maxine, Yvette, siobhan etc will be back !

Ploppymoodypants · 09/02/2019 08:05

Sorry for spelling (one handed feeding baby)

noodlefairy · 11/03/2019 23:14

My favourite name for a girl at the moment. I think it's due a comeback.

AliceAforethought · 11/03/2019 23:35

I like it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Joeybee · 11/03/2019 23:46

Love this name. Can't get why it's not more popular. Maxine to me sounds elegant and confident and able.

123Flopsy · 12/03/2019 07:51

Maxine is a beautiful sounding name that travels well into most languages. I really like it.

noodlefairy · 12/03/2019 23:52

I agree with pp. If I ever have a dd, she will be a Maxine. I can't understand why it isn't more popular

foxtiger · 14/03/2019 22:03

I can't imagine it on a little girl - every one I've met would be over 60 now.

noodlefairy · 27/04/2019 20:21

Needs a comeback!

EdWinchester · 27/04/2019 20:25

Max is a sweet name for a girl. Don't like Maxine as a full name though.

Lavenderblues · 27/04/2019 20:47

I like Maxine.

Eliza9919 · 28/04/2019 21:03
